Why not stick with the latest working before this version? I've no idea which that is since I don't use V.R. releases.

on analog lab, 35k. It used to be around 40k+ but a lot of packs are removed because of the updates to the CS80, Prophets etc making them useless. How much should it be though ?

woah, thats way more, the version 2022.4 has 28k, and the highest i've seen in the comments for the latest updates is 29.5k, so how are you at your numbers?

I have a habit to backup few Arturia's folder such as the Presets, Images etc. before doing a clean installation of V.R Arturia release everytime a big update released. It has been going on for a while and those are all my presets collection since.

I have a lot of original SQ80 and DX7 converted old presets and organized them into Arturia's format, got them last year I guess. Plus my own presets alone is near 400, those that I made and modified from other presets that I've used in my projects to get them organized in a folder for easy recall.

Yes the last V.R version of Analog Lab had some problems,
This is from one of the threads:

Here is what I did and everything works well, over 29,500 presets in Analog Lab

These steps worked perfect for me -

all versions are latest V.R releases except for Analog Lab, I downloaded the latest Analog Lab demo straight from Arturia then replaced only the demo VST3 dll with the cracked one from V.R.
With this method all presets work in Analog Lab (over 29,000) and all plugs open and are editable from within Analog Lab.
I only use VST3 no stand alone.
    Good Luck.

1 Install Pigments in default location.
2 Install Synths V Collection to any drive.
    3 Keyboards and Piano V Collection " "
    4 Augmented Strings/Voices " "
    5 FX Collection " "
6 Sound Banks to default install location
7 Analog Lab default install location (Legit Installer replace VST3)

8 Right Click choose "Run as Adminstrator" when opening DAW for the first time after installing so the database is created proper. (Even if logged in as Admin still have to right click first time)

These steps may change in future releases.

I don't know why he put the quote marks ( " ") at the end of the lines. Maybe he had the paths there and deleted all but the quote marks.
Anyway, you can install all to the default paths.

Is there a reason to install to a different place?
I install to defaults, BUT i move & symlink the ProgramData\Arturia folder to a 'DAW Library' drive for 2 reasons:
    1) Saves space on OS drive.
    2) I have extra presets in there and it makes it easier to for me to remember/be sure that i have renamed the folder before installing new version. (Or to remember to back up the Arturia folder).
I do that with most preset Libraries if i have substantial 3rd party extras.

I think he meant in the " " section to run it as administrator but idk. I spent yesterday the whole time to do these steps like Mud Jones but at the end I had some problems. Maybe because I didnt install all of them in the same folder or default folder. Analog lab V worked fine but couldnt recognize Piano V3 from arturia so when I tried to load some presets where you need Piano V3 , It crashed in a Second with my whole DAW together . Also the prophet synths from Synth V collection couldnt load as single plugin but they could run in analog lab V. I got really confused and uninstalled all of them yesterday. If you dont have any problems for the whole arturia bundle please let me know and I hope you can help me with it step by step please I am so confused and cant look for it up anywhere online. Maybe if you could give me any social media or Here in private chat so you can help me with that it would make my whole month I am so confused lol

Is there a reason you did not install them all to the default locations?
("Maybe because I didnt install all of them in the same folder or default folder.")
So far everything is working fine for me.

There is only one problem in this July relase from VR and that is:
Analog Lab crashes with a few certain presets.
To fix that, you uninstall VR version, install the Arturia website version, replace the VST files and it is fixed.
HP posted those files on sister site with info that explains what to do.
Download that little pack and follow the easy instructions.
(He made one for Pigments, too but i am not sure why- I have no problem with that so far.)

So I had VR's releases from last year which all worked perfectly, and then the one that came out earlier this year was nearly perfect, with the exception of the OB XA synth changing to OP XA. There were files within the installation folder that were still name OBXA. I changed the B in the file titles and everything worked perfectly. Then the last release came out and when I installed it on top of the existing installation none of the keyboards, synths, analog lab, pigments, nor the fx worked. I typically can figure the problems out by analyzing the installation folders, but in this case I could not. I then backed up the preset folder so I didn't lose my "user" presets. After deleting everything I went back to the zip files of the version I first installed (i save these for this reason exactly). I then reinstalled each update going forward. I never used Pigments much, so I skipped it this time. Somehow doing this process corrected everything. I can't say I understand why, but it did work. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS IS VERY TIME CONSUMING. IF YOU ARE HAPPY WITH THE PREVIOUS VERSION JUST STICK WITH THAT.

I think the Arturia releases work pretty well, but they aren't dummy proof. And I say that not in an insulting way. I, myself, did something wrong with an install at one point. In my case, I had an older version with program data in a different location than where I was installing a new version, and that caused issues with several of the plugins loading in my DAW.

I did figure out how to make it work without reinstalling, but it should also work well if you completely remove old versions and install the latest version from scratch (emphasis on should lol)

This works 100% no errors I have repeated it about 10 times on a clean machine every time. VST3 W10 Studio One latest

Use all latest V.R releases and install in this order, if you did it correctly you will see 30,167 presets in Analog Lab (unless you installed presets from places other than the V.R soundbanks bundle.

    Good Luck

install Analog Lab to default location
    Pigments in default location
    Synths V to any drive
Keyboards Piano V to any drive
    Augmented Strings/Voices to any drive
SoundBanks 6 Bundle install to default location
    FX collection to any drive
Lastly Install Soundbanks Bundle 7 in default location without uninstalling 6, files won't be duplicated.

Right click and run as administrator even if logged on as administrator the first time when opening DAW

These steps may change in future releases.

You say everything works fine and then you say Analog Lab crashes with certain presets, you say you can use the default install location and everything works fine, but you have to download the legit Analog Lab from the site? etc etc.

You don't need the legit Analog Lab anymore and there are no errors in any presets in Analog Lab. All you need is the latest V.R releases of everything. There are no errors and you should not see an error after installing soundbanks.

That is why I was so specific in my instructions.

To anyone else, anywhere I wrote "install to any drive" That means, create a folder on any drive and name it Arturia, then install shit there unless I wrote install to default location, then just install it in default location.
