Create a boot stick (or DVD) with windows setup on it, then you boot from it and install it to the SSD.
Since I installed Windows a couple of hundret times in my life, I recommend to only plug in the
drive/SSD on which you want to install Windows during the setup. After it has finished, you can plug in all your
    remaining drives again.

If your System doesn't work at all, try to create the boot stick on another PC.

the disk repair goes on for hour or so,then pc restarts, and the blue screen comes up saying
    STOP CODE Critical service failed,
then it goes back to disk repair, and the loop continues

i have a program called mr memory that scans pc and lets me know what memory i can add and suitable ssd
id like to run it again to see which ssd to get,so i would have to reinstall windows on the hdd.
if i done that how then could i install windows on ssd if its on the hdd?
or are ssd standard enough just depending on how much storage i would want?

Brand name is important when you only have one.
I am using Samsung 860EVO for my main OS disk, as it was considered a good choice at the time. But i have not kept up with the newer models that might replace it.
I think 250 gig works well, but it doesn't hurt to have extra space if the price is right. These days i think the price difference may mean 500g is the sensible chioce.
I like to keep my OS disk used space efficient, so i "offload" large things that are independent of the exact OS state (like VSTi libraries, etc) to another drive.
That makes backing up smaller files and faster.
I like Easeus Todo backup and it's always one of the first things to get installed after Windows setup. I tweak just a few settings, then i IMMEDIATELY make a backup. It may only take 10 minutes to complete and it saves reinstalling in case something screws up.
At that point i begin more tweaking and installing the basics i always need. (WinRAR, Windows Firewall Control, Link Shell Extension, etc) , then make another backup. I may have 1-3 backups per day if i build up a DAW system quickly.
I am in the process of a relaxed build with Win10 21h2 as a "Final Win10 setup".
Several important backups i always save:
    1) Right after installing OS.
    2) After drivers, & tweaking & basicneeded programs (but no DAW stuff, etc).
    3) Just BEFORE installing first DAW stuff (after a "break-in" period of testing and restarts to make sure everything is smooth.)
4),5),6)etc... BEFORE any major install, and after any major install is done and adjust & working well.

I keep a spreadsheet to track what i install, and backups, so i can reference which packages/versions i have installed (R2R, V.R, etc).
    Good luck!

ffs why cant things be simple.
so im using the usb on boot to do reinstall of windows(the keep files option)
    now i get compatibility report
the upgrade option isnt available if you start your computer using windows installation media
if a copy of windows is already installed on this computer and you want to upgrade, remove the installation media and restart your computer. After windows has started normally, insert the installation media and run windows setup.

@r4e told you the correct way to do this, a few posts up. if you have decided to install the system to an internal SSD now, you need to disconnect the EIDE cable and the power cable from the internal HDD. That way the HDD is not even seen by the system when it is booted.
After installing to the SSD, when you reconnect the HDD EIDE cable and Power Cable; you will need to move the small plastic jumper on the HDD from the MASTER position to the SLAVE position; so it is detected as a non-OS/primary drive.

After booting again, windows will see the slave hdd and you can do whatever you want with the files on it.

Many Windows 10 users are recently experiencing an issue with their computer. What actually happens is they get a blue screen of death with an error message that says “CRITICAL_SERVICE_FAILED”. A lot of the time, they’re stuck in this error and can’t get to the login screen.

If you’re also experiencing this error, you’re no doubt very frustrated. But don’t worry! This blue screen error is fixable…

    " Many Windows 10 users " : please ... 10 ?

" But don’t worry! This blue screen error is fixable... "

One of those ridiculus articles by a John Doe aka " Jonny Lin " here, which fill, polute the web trying to scare newbies and get their eternal respect with always the same happy ending " But don’t worry! This blue screen error is fixable… "

" Jonny Lin ", another one of those fake " experts ", a Microsoft Certified he experts himself : yep, a certification is a diploma, but not as one might hear it coming out of a school or other. The certification is worked by oneself or in a training center (paying) which gives courses whose total rarely lasts more than a week... ...

Here , all is explained :

    http://rufus.ie/en/

    _____________________________________________________

It's too late now - or too early - , but before I forget :

Once all is done and " back " as you want, create an image of your OS ( or any partition in fact ). Not with the Windows image backup tool but for example with the Macrium Reflect tool, FREE, working like a charm. You'll be " back " in the EXACT same state as when you created the image ( it's really a copy / paste process, MBR included ) :

    http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree

Note that for restoration Reflect works from a USB key : it cannot run from a place where itself is installed - on the disc of the OS -, as this disc will at first be quickly formatted. Reflect will create itself the files needed for that key.

In my case, creating the image takes let's say 2 min / 3 min. Same for " re-deploying it ". The image goes directly onto an external SSD ( and back from it ). You can also create a new partition on your drive and have Reflect write the " clone " there. Also : you can extract a lost / deleted / corrupted file from that clone image and have Reflect copy it into place.

After some trials of this and that software / plug-ins, as example I'll use it somewhat like 3, 4 times per day. More commonly once per month.

There are other similar free softwares. Avoid Acronis True Image, I got only problems with it and the fact that it's not FREEWARE, leads to use a serial which always fails, particularly on the rescue disc. And, you're dead :-(
