    hi

i seen a rectangle sized room

    that has a bed
    a couch
bookshelves all around the walls filled with books with glass in front of them

No prob if you're using headphones. :winker:

The glass fronts will probably vibrate by music and for sure reflect high freqs. Therefore, they should be removed urgently.

A good mixing room has tight reverberation from low to high (generally an RT60 of around 0,3 seconds) along with balanced frequency response and a clear stereo image.

Whether your room dimensions, bed, couch, bookshelves and glasspanels will contribute to those factors is unknown until measured (though the glass probably not, and the bookshelves will probably cause distortion in some areas).

What you would need at least, is bass traps in all corners, and broadband absorption at first reflection points. Start from there, measure, and continue.

Glass in front of bookcases sounds like a good eco chamber to me.

isn't the retro way to deal with sound conditioning a room with bookcases to hang thick carpet infrom of them? just a couple of potted plant on the top of the bookcase to hold one end of the carpet and let the rest of it hang down the front. That should give you the full old school art collage vibe and more importantly a extramly absorbent surface to remove any reflected sound energy.

If you open all glass doors and expose the books, you might have something ok.
