    Hey guys,

i´ve got some cleaning to do here on a guitar sample, so i´m looking for a frequency analyzer plugin, which shows me these unwanted high and low end frequencies i need to lessen/completely remove.

been using the EQ2 of FL Studio for that, but it´s just too inaccurate, as the frequency levels aren´t shown. i´ve tried the t-racks meter, but it doesn´t really seem to be made for looking at these tiny shrilling freq spots one needs for those surgical EQ procedures - also, it updates the freqs pretty sluggish.

...read a few times here that the bluecats meters are ace, but would that be the one for the job ? i´m not looking for rocket science btw, whatever gets the job done. preferably some well known commercial plugs.

for better understanding what needs to be done i included a loop.

Have you tried Voxengo Span? There is a free version and a paid version (Span Plus). Give it a try. The Fabfilter Pro Q also has a spectrum, not so good as SPAN but it's a good simple EQ. Tonebooster's EQ also. When in doubt, use several analyzers and you will see which gives you more accurate graphic.

iXL spectral analyzer can give you some really nice detail, i personally use it, give three different modes of view spectrogram, fft analyzing and 1/3 oct analyzer. There is a warez bundle on the interwebs somewhere which also includes the a stereo analyzer which is really good as well.

Voxengo SPAN is all you need and more. I use it on every single and have used it on every project I've ever done, and it's completely free

Just search google: "eq vst fft" or "eq vst spectrum", click on "images" and have a great choice of many VST equalizers including a spectrum view :)

I use voxengo Spand and Hofa IQ-Analyser.
The latter freezes the image and on click it also shows the value.
It displays volume indicators (also EBU-Scale)and a tiny goniometer, very useful.

I love Adobe Audition. It has some of the best tools for this sort of thing. Other than that, do you have a smartphone or ipad?? It has apps for that. I am considering going legit with Adobe, spend the monthly fee, and start working in "The Cloud".
