Are you creating something or are you just collecting plugins and samples?

Some of you collect butterflies, cockroaches and postage stamps, why can't I collect plugins?
In my collection there is for the first PCI Macintosh, PowerPC.
Modern music is cacophony of morons. They do not know how to play, immediately came to twist and scratch vinyl, and became producers from short pants.

I'm creating the most comprehensive collection of plugins in the history of plugins, yes!

After reading all of the posts of this thread I had to check if there are new plugins available. :)

Creation is God's work. I'm just sitting in a corner watching what he's doing.

Sometimes you have to take a while off to catch up on extracting and organizing. :)

    I probably would say both.
Im at the point where it would be smarter to limit my amount of VST's because I often catch myself experimenting more with different VST's and soundbanks than actually writing and practicing music.
Guess that's just the curse of having a lot of options nowadays.

A bit of both. Sometimes I catch myself thinking I have more plugins that I will ever need. I slowed this process down a bit after my Plugin Alliance account was deleted due to having "mail.RU" email address. I had about 20 plugins there which I legally purchased.

I'll avoid getting more plugins, I've got plenty already. Same thing for sample libraries/instruments.

Only if I run into something I can't do, then I'll look. Without fail these are some exotic instruments that I've have no access to.

I get paralyzed by too much choice! You wouldn't want to go food shopping with me either.

I will give my opinion " Crazy " philosophical boring as always, but not only of me, but from the perspective in 3 person, that is, as I also see it happens to others.

Certain things that have happened to me and are happening to me, I usually read it here, that is, it goes through my mind and I say, it must be me, but I see that it is affecting us all. And it has a background of social need. This is not only a matter of downloading a new vst, no. This is the need to be connected, to feel "online", when we are offline, we feel that we are out of everything. So downloading plugins and plugins and samples and samples and samples, gives us the feeling of filling spaces. And we are all getting more and more lonely and far away from friends and family. If we would get together with friends like years ago and family, and also with our bands, we wouldn't have time to be checking all the time which is the vst that will take us to happiness, it's a self lie. A simple poorly recorded song can lead you to fame, not the best vst on the market. So in my opinion there is a whole psychological burden behind it, I say this in a way for me, because I have become addicted to downloading vst. As I say it for other people.
Besides, it is easier to download a new vst than to finish our projects, it is easier to think that our song will sound better with the vst that is not out yet. It's escape, all the time, we are looking for escape, and escape from reality. ) :
    That's my humble boring opinion.

I am guilty of this. I just have to have it, although I have started several projects creating music with what I've collected, but haven't yet finished any of them, but I plan to.....really.
