I am wanting to get the date of a Hotrod Deluxe Silver face but have no idea how to go about finding out the year.

The serial is B-231160

Looks like a '75 or '76. What a great amplifier!

 

Have tried emailing Fender? The one and only time i needed to know the year and a very specific technical thing from an amp all i did was email the manufacturer and they gave me all the info i needed. Don't know about Fender though.

Stevie Dude, Im guessing the actual fender website would be correct verses the guitarinsite. But, they have wildly different answers as to what year that amp was made. lol

 

the Mexico factory only built around early 90s so..

and Hot-rodded term was popular around that era, high demands of old amp modification which Fender eventually made them factory official release around late 90s if im not mistaken.

Yeah, I was going by the results of guitarinsite serial number checker. Obviously wrong.

If you search guitarinsite with the dash it gives a ballpark of '91, which is closer, but scroll further down the page and it also says that the Hotrod Deluxe was only introduced in '96 — as FrankPig said. But yeah, Stevie's answer is more accurate.
Also, while the face plate on those amps is silver it's technically not a Silverface — that refers to the Fenders produced in the 70's with the front facing controls.

 

The first Silverface models were manufactured from 1967.
