The interesting thing about Seventh Heaven and I guess Bricasti is that it doesn't sound very realistic in terms of spaces but I dig it.

    @KungPaoFist
That's exactly WHY it works : modulations (that are not realistic)
On regular IR algos, there is no modulation at all.
Because IR is a time variable frequency mask only.
Nothing in the "pitch" domain. Only frequency response and time.

When devs started to add modulations to IR, they sounded a lot better.
    Like Reverberate.
Liquid Sonic use an hybrid IR / modulation route for Seven Heaven too.

Modulations are the key for LUSH sound ... a key lost by IR reverbs during first years

    @KungPaoFist:
On the other hand, reverbs like Bricasti, Lexicon and Quantec are part of our 'sonic memory'. We grew up hearing them all the time, without knowing really. I guess that makes them instantly recognisable, and real for that matter.

Funny that a reverb like this one https://savantaudiolabs.com/product/quantum-2772-evolution/ (heads up by boomoperator) is promoted by stating the opposite: "Most reverb simulators rely on modulation to avoid a buildup of harsh resonances within the soundfield which often results in unnatural time and pitch fluctuations. Because the Quantum 2772 Evolution embraces the natural interaction and build-up of well-coordinated resonances, it does not need to rely on any form of modulation, offering a degree of clarity, naturalness and pitch-stability not typically found in other reverbs." i have a problem with reverb plugins they all sound + or - the same to me :dunno: I still can't sharpen my ear with reverb. So I couldn't choose one

In other thread you write that "I have been mixing my songs for more than ten years, also on some occasions I help mix friends and acquaintances." And you can´t hear the differences between reverbs?

I can differentiate the reverbs in the same plugin. But not in others with similar characteristics, as if to say "this is my favorite". On the other hand, I could say it with equalizers, although almost all of them fulfill the same function, I have a preference for Fabfilter Q3. You understand?

    Edit:

Here I can give you an example of what I mean.

    IR Reverbs
    East West, Altiverb, Reverence.

I feel like all 3 plugins sound almost the same in their reverbs. But for example Reverence, it attracts me more, but I think it's because of the GUI. But if I close my eyes and listen I can't hear "big" difference to say, "Oh yeah this one sounds better".

And sometimes I have a hard time choosing a reverb, in case I have trouble choosing them. It's always happened to me, that's why I said, "I need to sharpen my ear with reverbs."

They don't tell the opposite : they say "Most reverb simulators rely on modulation"
Exactly what i said (99% algos reverbs
    use modulations)

That's probably why there is a battle between Bricasti (and clones) and Quantec (and clones).
At the end, some like Bricasti for being "transparent", some like Quantec for being "roomy"

Listen to their "4. Female Pop Vocal (Short Room)" demo.

And compare to this M7 room vocal :

Read this (all is written clearly by many ppl) :
    https://vi-control.net/community/th...lution-true-stereo-algorithmic-reverb.127456/

So YES Quantec gone away from modulations (unlike 99% makers).

But it is not working FOR ME
    I prefer M7 by a long margin
I find Quantec too upfront and aggressive on regular rooms

@softice Thanks for MPX suggestion ! i will try it now :D
I found Lexicon PCM too cumbersome ... even if i like Lexicon sound (and TC electronics too)

idk why but the only verb I've been using recently is the PSP 2445 EMT, got it for free at Plugin Alliance once and since then been enjoying, it has that 90s dnb verb sound I love in my music.

Have you checked the Black Rooster Spring and Plate reverbs for this?

Lately I've come to the realization that no plugin can replicate the real thing.

So I had a cathedral built inside a cave, and that's where I'm producing music now.

But I still have Valhalla Vintage Verb on my master channel. 100% wet. Some habits are hard to break.

Valhalla plate has a really unique sound.
I use this often with guitars when I want an "post rock-ish" clean sound.

Edit: Just realized that triggerflipper posted this directly above me
