I love the site, but people are entitled to their opinions. No one's disrespecting their efforts. We know it wasn't easy. That's part of what AS is for.

Hmm, no it isnt. Not in Firefox, not in Chrome and also not in IE. I think you misunderstood. When you reply to someone's comment, the box is of course below. But when you come to a thread, scroll down and read all the comments and then decide also to comment (what is the normal way I think), you have scroll up to reach the comment box. I also think, this have to go down to the bottom of the site again.

Also, I'm nor quite sure if its the best idea to organize comments and replies in the actual way. I know for logical reasons it's OK..but not in usability point of view. Normally when you discuss in a thread with several members you stay at the end of the thread and wait for replies and new comments regarding problems and solutions. The old way here at Audioz was perfect for this because everyone was able to quote and reply and it was absolutely clear because you simply have to watch the end of the thread. Now if you want to follow a discussion or simply small talk you have to go back and forward, search for the related comment...You are simply not able to watch all evolving because you will loose the overview. Even for you moderators it will be very difficult to have the overview to all replies, I think. Also, if a comments tree will go deeper than 5 replies, the comment box will become really small.
And I know this can happen really fast at audioz when there is a high frequented discussion. But maybe this should be monitored for while to come to an conclusion.

Of course if you simply dont want to read all the "MAC/WIN/AMIGA PLZ" or have a specific problem and dont want to read all the comments but just concentrate on solution of it...the actual is good....Ahh, I dont know. But for me the old way was the better one, I think.

BTW..I prefer the 2 columns! I think maybe it would make more sense not to use "Archive" for it...Maybe something like "Reposts" or "Oldies but goldies" would make more sense. When I read "archive" I imagine this are simply posts from Audioz archive maybe randomly shown.

Of course everybody is really thankful..But I bet SAINT, CAT and all the others are really thankful too if users bring in their ideas! They always used to ask us members what we think about everything at Audioz. Thats what I'm really thankful for. The possibility for us members to participate in making the site perfect even if its already nearly perfect as it is now!

The NEW RELEASES column should be on the 'right' side of the page, and the "Archives" column should be on the left side. Archives should be reduced to half the size of what it is now, and that real estate given to New Releases to make it look like a single column releases which is what everybody is looking for anyway. Since nobody really care for archives they don't want that taking up new release real estate.

agree with this, prefer the old simple look. Nothing was wrong with the way that worked for years. I think many would agree but people like to try to fit in.

Yeah apparently we're having some issues with the placement for some people. We will look into optimizing it for all platforms.

Fresh releases are those that have never been released. Archive has older releases such as those that have been reuploaded in the event that all links went down and the whole thread had to be reposted.

I don't think so. Don't forget that most people read from left to right... So first things first, right? The NEW RELEASES column should stay on left... you don't want to read the archives first and then the new stuff, right?

I don't know... can you do a mockup for us to see?

    Not everybody actually.

That's not true... Archives are more important than you may think. There are people that don't visit the page everyday, and you can miss alot of stuff, and with luck you can find what you want in the archives column... So...

Yes bring back only one column at a time to look at.
It's a very nice job that was done with the site, I really like it.
But the two columns things makes my eyes wonder here and there and at some point I don't know what I'm looking at any more.
Also, since the titles don't line up one in front of another it makes it worse.
Yeah! I agree with either choose the fresh release column or the archive but not both at ounce.

I also noticed that some title have this blue fluorescent color, not good you can't read this it glows too much.
Now this site looks professional, a superb job indeed.

Thanks a lot and keep the good work... very nice.

All this is just the discomfort of new beginnings, once you find place you'll get used to it and see how awesome the new lay out is

The look of the new site is fine, but that dual-list design really is aweful because now there is no way to see the titles listed in simple chronological order, i.e. sorted descending by date posted.

With the old list on the other hand one always had perfect overview and instant orientation, so heres another vote for getting that back.

    Thanks. [IMG]

On a really big wide screen it's rather annoying to stare at the very left side for reading, you want to have your main reading content in the center (better for your neck).

In my 3,5 years on Audioz I used the site around 99 percent of the time with RSS feeds for news and with Firefox search function for older stuff, I never browsed the archives and nearly never used the frontpage. *yes*

I love the new design and wish the neon effect was even more brilliant......great job! It's amazing how creative people are intimidated by change!

Keep up the good work, guys!

+1 on single column back...the archive side dilutes the excitement of eyeballing new releases...as a positive side effect it will confuse visitors, take half away from the sheer pleasure of ripping mindlessly another unneeded soft and drive them back making music...so it's win-win but if possible still wanting single column list *yes*

Back to the old 1 column way please, or at least make the right side "archives" much smaller in scale compared with the new releases. It just looks like a total jumbled mess with 2 columns.

Oh, and I know it's another topic/post somewhere on AudioSex but logging into the new Audioz site has been a total nightmare. :snuffy: :grooves:
