Let me pay tribute to the insects:
The term compound eye or oculus compositus (plural oculi compositi) is used to describe the type of eye frequently found in arthropods, in which one eye is composed of several ommatidia (individual eyes), in certain insects such as dragonflies even of several tens of thousands. The insect can thus compose an image of its environment from individual pixels.

Hi Mrpsanter! thanks a lot for you nice feedback! the only "new" track I did yesterday so...I can say, after opening Reaper:
I usded
triaz kontakt drum plus some extra drums
Falcon inner dimensions, energy.
kontakt retrocade, F9 orgins bass, substance. plus compressors eq limmiters and a little delay and reverb. I used eventide crush on part of the drum trax. The other trax are recent but I don't remember exactly what I used. Soon I'll post more....

 

interesting, i listened to the first 4 tracks.

i directly liked the "mystery" or intriguing darkness, but after a while i got the feeling it went nowhere and my interest dropped fast. i felt like i already new what next would (not) contain melodically.

so, imho, very well executed intriguing atmosphere (!) but then also way to thin of a journey or even a simple hint of a melodic content. and just an atmosphere makes it tough to keep the interest, at least mine. many thanks for sharing your material. Cheers

I liked Squeak. The others I checked are not my thing really, at least not this early in the morning.


What filter did you use in Squeak? it's on a mid range sound. It sounds like UVI Shade kind of; but with the resonance surpressed, or something. Neat.

I know you're right. I don't ever get deep enough, probably because I only work 1-3 days per track. they're just ideas to develop, not sellable tracks. good ear! I'm hoping to get more criticism.

 

i understand, but just to be clear. im not asking for much since i do hear the work you have put into this, and its good. it just lacks some pointer or context just a little. beware though Im not talking about orchestral takes here lol, just even a little hint of "melody" or structure however sparse will do it.
maybe at a chord level? i mean when you start maybe test to decide for longer sequences of chords like 8 at least to frame your creation, so you have a path to follow?

i cant say that is the answer, im sure there others that can expand on it, its just my opinion. but again good work.
