    Anybody upgraded yet? If so, how much better (or worse) than the free bundle version is it?

    Damn! I didnt want to give UAD anymore money but they are having a sale and I tried the demo and now I am getting a very clean -8.0 LUFS

    UAD Does not have the True Peak version. They have a classic version and masterdesk. I would have never tried it had I not seen this thread. I am blown away. I need to A/B the free version. Geezus this UAD version is good.

    I have both UAD and PA versions including latest Masterdesk True Peak. I'd say this newest one is most flexibile and sounds best considering Brainworx improved algo beside few other things.

    Not my 1st weapon of choice except if I need very quick master and it does it very well.

    You can get bx_masterdesk True Peak native via Plugin Alliance and "Forever 29" plan for as low as $30 :)

    You will get penalized with those lufs anyway if you upload it to any music distributor unless you distribute on your own or other ways.

    Depending on music style, -8.0 / -9.0 to -12.0 LUFS is still studio standard. Streaming platforms are of course different story. Maybe he just want loud master to play in the club?

    Streaming is stepping away from loudness wars. You get penalized by their algorithms.

    Interesting because it's the same limiter as in bx_limiter True Peak which is known for being pretty dirty in sense of adding a bunch of harmonics rather than being 'one of the most musical sounding True Peak Limiters ever made' which is pure advertising. And so is the vid.

    Sadly, a lot of tracks go even up to -6LUFS.

    Another new version? How many are there now? Four? PA is slowly becoming a real shitshow. Again and again the same old algorithms mixed with a tiny new feature and voila, here is a new plugin!

    So what's the consensus? I don't mind buying Dirk a couple of beers if it's any good :drunks:

    Main use case would be quick 'n dirty mastering of demos and new ideas to exchange with my collaborators.

    PS I got the original for free, so I could just continue with that.
