Bvker releases Retouched free Linn LM-2 drum sample pack - Jun 7, 2022

Bvker has released a new sample pack featuring a collection of processed drum sounds from the Linn LM-2 drum machine, including claps, cymbals, hi-hats, kicks, snares and toms.

Retouched contains 49 brand-new drum hits based on the beloved Linn character, but manipulated using magic sound design and processing techniques to fit the needs of a modern music producer.

The Linn LM-2 might have shaped the sound of the 80s like no other drum machine. It has been used on countless hit records by artists including a-Ha, Madonna, Billy Idol, and many more. Due to the rise of 80s-inspired music, it’s increasing in popularity again, and although it still has a great character, the original sounds lack punch and perfection, as measured by today’s standards. We didn’t want to let that sit on us and decided to modernize those iconic drum sounds to have better transients, be louder, and sonically more refined!

While creating this kit, we didn’t shy away from changing pitches, adding top layers, or new transients. Heck, we even replaced the body on some kicks. We added tape saturation, analog compression, new reverb tails, and processed the hell out of it. While some of the samples have been changed up quite a lot, we ensured to obtain the original sound more in others. If you’re looking for a free Linn Drum sample pack suitable for modern 80s, Synthpop, or Synthwave music, this is the kit you want to download!

The royalty free sample pack is available to download from the Bvker website.

listened to some 80s songs last weekend and wondered where all these drums came from, spotted a 727 and 707 in some track. some simmons drums here and there, but one particular clap/snare i couldnt figure out. to bad i forgot to check, which track it was. maybe i can find it.

So thanks for the sample pack!

Look for LinnDrum (also named LM-2) and Sequential Circuits Drumtraks, also the Oberheim DMX.

About Bvker, I received a free wavetable pack from them a month ago, and it was very well done, good quality soundwise and technically.
I'm gonna get that Lindrum pack for sure.

I just created a patch in Parawave Rapid, reproducing Marcus Miller / Miles Davis Tutu keyboard sound, so it will complement prefectly with the LinnDrum.

    Thanks @BEAT16 for pointing it.
