    JMG Sound - Nanopulse VST - Introductory discount 76% - 19 €

Transient tool for more power and punch.
United Plugins announces the availability of the Nanopulse plug-in from founding partner JMG Sound. The plug-in is a transient processing tool designed to give tracks more power and punch, making them stand out more in the mix. The character of the transients is altered through various impulse responses and frequency profiles of drums, percussion, instruments, noises, objects and more. This can result in either subtle enhancements or complete changes.

Well-processed transients can add power and punch to tracks so they can cut through a mix. Nanopulse achieves this by applying the profile of other "attack sounds" directly to the transients.
At the heart of Nanopulse is the Attack ENHANCER section, which offers 64 transient types.

These have been recorded from a variety of sources, such as a snare, wood block, bass drum, glass ping, string pluck, cymbal crash, etc. You simply select from the long list to give the transients of the sound you want to process the character of one of these profiles. The PITCH, TONE and RESONANCE controls shift the pitch of the selected transient by -24/+24 semitones. The balance between low and high frequencies can be changed to make the ENHANCED TRANSIENT darker or brighter. Additionally, you can adjust how much the frequency profile is smoothed. At 0% the profile is smooth but still captures the sound character of the source, at 100% the profile is extremely detailed with resonant peaks that stand out clearly.

In addition, there is a SHAPER section where the overall dynamic balance can be shaped with a transient shaper with three bands - LOW, MID and HIGH - each band controlled by ATTACK (affects the level of the transient signal) and SUSTAIN (affects the level of the rest of the signal - i.e. everything minus the transient), while CROSS determines the frequency at which the bands are split; SLOPE selects the crossover type from 6dB, 12dB and 24dB per octave, while LISTEN offers the possibility to hear single or multiple parts of the split signal solo. The six easy-to-use sliders provide precise control over sound shaping and design.

Fortunately, three different DETECTOR modes are also available for detecting transients - SMART can detect transients regardless of their level and generally gives the best results, SPECTRAL takes tonality into account and offers very musical results while causing a small delay, and FAST is slightly less accurate at low levels but can detect multiple transients in quick succession better than the other modes while placing the least load on the CPU (Central Processing Unit).

In addition, Nanopulse's INPUT and OUTPUT offer the ability to control their respective gain levels from -24 to +24 (dB), while JMG Sound has included an output LIMITER function for safety, as well as a handy RANDOM function for generating random values in the ENHANCER. An UNDO function allows you to return to the original sound at any time, so there's no need to panic if the unexpected turns out to be unpleasant.

Regardless of its peculiarity, Nanopulse shares several features with other members of the family, which now includes 25 plug-ins, all of which take their place in United Plugins' growing product portfolio. For example, it offers high audio quality thanks to its internal 64-bit audio processing and can handle any sampling rate. It also automatically detects whether it makes sense to perform any processing at all. If this is not the case, sleep mode is temporarily activated, which means that practically no CPU power is needed at all, freeing up computing resources for other processes. Nanopulse's photo-realistic and flexible 3D GUI (Graphical User Interface) aims to give the impression of working with a hardware rather than a software.

    Price and availability
Nanopulse by JMG Sound is available at a limited-time introductory price of €19 until June 30, 2022. The regular price is €79. The plug-in is available in AAX, AU, VST and VST3 formats. A 15-day, fully functional trial version for macOS 10.10 and newer and Windows 8/10, is also available for download.

No iLok, dongle or internet access is required to activate Nanopulse. All United Plugins software solutions use license files for activation and can be used freely on all computers as long as you are the owner.

I wouldn't mind an ugly GUI but this seem unnecessarily big just for trying to be "modern/fancy". That being said, let's see how it sounds
