I have previously (one or two years ago) asked for this without success so now I try again.

Can someone help me with the following:

I need a vst or similar that can:
1: Load my own wavs / samples - single beats
2: organize my wavs / samples/ beats so I can create my own grooves / loops in bpm in my daw
3: Preferably in several channels so it is easy to get a proper overview of the process
    4: Easy to use

    I´ll add a few more
    5: Stand-alone application preferred
6: Can handle at least 32 bars grooves
7: Can handle odd time signatures like 7/8, 5/4 etc
    8: Drag & drop feature
9: Rich opportunities to randomize grooves in the application
10: Can handle pitch, reverse etc for each sample

    Bottom line:
I need an application where almost everything is possible in an easy and intuitive way which makes the work process creative instead of being technical and time consuming.

So if any of you have experience with an application that have most of the features listed above I would LOVE get some feedback - I need to use it for an upcoming project.

    Cheers

Thanks but it doesnt make much sense with your comment / help as you clearly have not understood what I am looking for - it is explained in 4 points.
I do not need a hundred possible useful options but an application that can solve my problems. In other words:
People who have experience with the above.

what you seek for, sounds like you might like Media Explorer integration in Reaper DAW?
using VST for such task feels too limited in my opinion...

Dude, I'm trying to get what you want.

You're not asking about anything special on the surface, so I assume you tried some of the common options and were dissatisfied with them.
So loading your own one-shots, sequencing, preferably multi-channel, preferably ergonomic. OK, got that from the start. What is the problem?
What is it you need that those things don't do?

Ok, "ease of use" is something we can argue about, but "easy to start with" would apply here.

I'd say Ableton Live is the thing that does all of this. You can take grooves (loops) then extract them to single hits, convert to MIDI. Then you can only extract the "feel" of a recording and apply it to your own beats. Not to mention it has a truckload of preset grooves.

Then if you want you can process all of it separately per hit or whatever way you prefer.

ACID Music Studio ... or ... Acid Pro ... xxx

    The best for me ...
It's a software and not a plugin, it does everything you talk about and need and even more. For example work on your loops etc ... Classify your audio etc ... Automatically calculate bpm ... Plus much more ... It is both easy to use and pleasant ... Then all you have to do is save your work to import it into any other daw ...

This was the part of the question that was most mystifying to me.

a.) What was recommended to you one or two years ago?
b.) What software out of those recommendations did you try?
c.) What was it about the software that you tried that failed to meet your needs?

That being said @BuntyMcCunty, because it is true. There is no shortage of ways to program drums from samples; just users who want one program to do everything the way they want (they probably never will), and users who will not spend the time to learn and compare all of the suggestions. They are all a little bit unique.

All that said, Tal Drum is the only addition since 2 years ago that is really noteworthy. That is the real deal for a sample based drum machine.

Ultraloop ticks all the boxes you describe.
You can load your own loops and make grooves with it.

Agreed, if you've got one-shots then you've got a world of choices and opportunities to sequence & twist them to your liking.

At the risk of going way OT, what is Tal Drum all about? As a long time Battery user I'd be interested to hear about this, is there a thread? I mean there's very little Battery won't do for me, but it can feel a bit clunky at times, though there's nothing like it for me to replace it. So maybe I should give it a go?

I like Battery, and I avoid using it if I can for exactly the reasons you mention. The Tal-Drum is very similar styled. You can drag samples directly from the browser to pads very quickly. It has your garden variety sample fx/modulation options. It's pretty impressive. There are a few things on the Mac side that are a little; em, not the way I would expect. Right clicking a cell on Mac causes it to open the Color Swatch/Picker for the pad? as an example. There could be better use made of things. Just like every other drum machine we get. It is scalable and sounds very good. It's definitely worth checking out. But it's also early in development, so I don't see you dumping Battery.
