I have win 11 on my test machine where I test programs, plugins, etc.. I can't confirm that win11 is not stable - quite the opposite. But it needs more CPU and is currently missing some essential features that I need for my daily work. So it will probably take some time until my studio computer runs with win11.

I am using Win Update Stop 1.4 by NoVirusThanks. with one click i can activate Windows Update if i need some drivers. Before one can hit Pause Updates for one week to not get updates Windows 10 to a newer version.

    Works the best for me.

@JustFun598 There are also great lite versions of W8 and W10 by PhoenixOS. NexusOS is also good [I tried it but didn't like some things], but give a try to PhoenixOS, maybe you'll be pleasantly surprised. I'm currently testing PhoenixOS W10 LTSC and considering using it on my main computer at some point. Me using W10 for audio... I still find that somewhat funny. :)

Yeah, like @Olymoon said, I don't want to be a beta-tester for Microsoft, especially on my main production system. However, I will surely test some of the W11 lite versions at some point, too. For now, it's too new for me.

...and I hate not being able to move the toolbar! I keep the toolbar up because I find it completely illogical for it to be down - harder to reach than up.

I think the real difference in upgrading from 10 -> 11 is going to be in principle very similar to 7 -> 10 .
    1. The major difference will be streamlined (dumbed down) GUI,
    2. Throwing a bone with the introduction to a "revolutionary technology" (DirectStorage) which sounds impressive on paper, like the hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling was, ending up with a lot of smoke - no fire,
    3. Little bit more snappier to create a general impression of a "faster" OS. They actually did some "performance optimizations" by giving more RAM resources to forground apps and less to the background apps. Apps should launch a bit faster and that's about it, according to Steve Dispensa from MS.
Resume from sleep should also be faster.

All in all, nothing to write home about.
