Trying to install NET Framework 3.5 for older software i use.. ive downloaded the file but i get this & it will not install...please can anyone advise? Ive used this older software before on W10, so not sure why it will not work now!

What file exactly? You have to install it through the control panel: https://docs.microsoft.com/dotnet/framework/install/dotnet-35-windows

Tryed this no luck! This popped up

 

Hi, have you checked that the .Net framework is enabled on your computer?

Try this:
Type "windows features" into the search bar and select "Turn windows features on or off"
Select the box for "NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and .NET 3.0)"
Whilst you're there, also select "NET Framework 4.8 Advanced Services"
Select OK.

Once done, try reinstalling.

Maybe worth rebooting first and then retrying?

 

Have you searched for solutions with Google? That error code gives a bunch of results, majority of them pointing on to some Windows Update problem: https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/fix-windows-update-error-0x80070422/

Btw I'm trying not to be rude, but it's "tried".

 

What version on win10 are you using? Is it one of those custom stripped down versions or legit win10pro/home?
