    Sorry to hear you´ve lost your HD :-(

    My experiencees:
    On this PC (c-drive) I run a at least 8 year old Samsung SSD HD. My PC runs about 14 - 16 hours every day and I´ve absolutely no issues so far...
    after running more than 40880 hours.
    I also have several external SSD HDs and I´ll guess the oldest is about 5 years - never had any issues with any of them.

    the lifespan of an SSD HD should be at least 10 years - under "normal" circumstances.

    I have burned quite a few HDs in my time and it is a sad experience every time. Hope you have backup of most of your data.
