Anyone know if there is such thing?

I'm looking for a way to jam with friends from anywhere around the world with a quick enough ISP to be able to perhaps play their guitar while I play keys and use a DAW to provide a backing drum 'n bass track.
Just as if we were in the same room together.. and make it so we can either have a host record it or it records on both sides..

Even better is if you can have three or four connections so you can have lead, bass, drums, keys and even vocals.

If we can Skype, surely we can jam in HiFi over the net too..

The only thing I could find was something that is supposed to work with Chrome, but the site won't work and I think it was something you had little control over.

I'd like to see a peer to peer plugin.. a way to find someone to jam with just like gamers can find a total stranger to battle with in a online game.. maybe even have stats to score your abilities to let you in at certain levels.

I could go on and on.. there really is no limit.
It could also be handy to use when a band member needs to rehearse with their band when they cannot be in the same place at the same time if they are out of town or somethingm but can use the net to be present.

    try this http://www.ohmstudio.com/
it works fast, you can use your own plugins and you have a chat window in the daw so you can talk to friends.
its free and i think there are no limits on how many people can join the project.
only downside is that it is a bit limited at the moment. so you dont have complicated features like logic/cubase/protools.
but as i said its free. so give it a shot!

I looked into this a while back, but it seemed fairly hopeless if everyone in the session doesn't have hardcore internet upload speed. Check on Wiki for "Networked Music Performance". You might find something useful there. I found this in the external links:

    eJAMMING.com

Don't know if it's legit or not, but might be worth a shot.

i was on cable modem connection how it works is it has some sync thing where it sends out a time code to everybody and waits for everybodys signal to sync so no matter if someone is 2ms behind or 5ms it will wait till everybody is sync... i believe its how online gaming works too so lag wasnt a issue at all...it works so good u can even record the jam sessions in realtime!!!

    Hy there,
I'm using the PlugIn from http://www.digitalmusician.net/. It is a fine Service and helps you to meet other musicians all over the world. Also it is possible to jam with the other ones online.

    Simply give it a try.
