Hey everyone,
I'd be happy to receive all sorts of feedback for this lil song I came up with.
Did this in a really short amount of time so production may suck (so may the song) but I'm all in for criticism.
Destroy me lol.

 

idk, I think you pretty much nailed what you were shooting for. be that what it may.

 

mix sounds fairly pro to my ears overall. the voices have some sibilance left that i find distracting in some of the 's' sounds. there's something else about the vocal that bothers me in a way but i can't say what it is. it sounds like it doesn't really 'sit' well in the mix for me. but that's just my opinion. nice video editing!

 

Not at all the kind of music I'd generally be listening to, but for the sort of 'quickie' thing you describe it's really quite impressive. Sounds very pro, even the video, though certainly not state of the art, looks very good. You got me digging up a copy of 'Rock Me Baby' by George McCrae! Hadn't heard that in a long, long time. Good luck with it!

 

This song makes me want to drink a bottle of bleach and quit my life, luckily it doesn't last long and I didn't have time to finish the mission.
If the purpose of the track was to induce euthanasia in the listener I would say it works

Thank you very much! Lol I'll tell you what bothers you about the vocals. I recorded the main vocal track and then was too lazy to record the harmonies so I quickly pitch-shifted the vocal track twice to create the two other vocal tracks for harmony. Ended up sounding.. umm I don't know how to describe.. just not right, obviously. Maybe some day I'll make a proper version, if I think it's worth the effort. Thank you for your input!

Nah man, it's all fine I'm a grown man who can lovingly take waaaaaay worse criticism than that Now I have to make music that will make the guy start to appreciate life again. I totally owe him that for making him lose all interest in life

There's some good here and some really bad. The good: video quality, mix/mastering all seem pretty good. Has a professional vibe to it. Musically though, I am trying to bite my tongue so I don't sound like bleach guy above. lol It's just not at all my thing, but I really can't stand a lot of pop music (which is what this feels like, even though classified it as funk). This is just far too simple sounding for my liking, all across the board (especially the lyrics). But it obviously is not a genre that I appreciate, so take that with a grain of salt.

It sounds like it could be the background track for an upbeat commercial, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Maybe it's just the lyrics.. they are kinda cheesy/simple lyrics but I guess that's the case with a lot of pop music though.

Anyways, I really didn't want to come here and rain on your parade or anything. Like I said, this probably just is not my genre. Thank you for sharing your music and putting it out there for criticism anyways though, it takes guts!

 

Was mine criticism to your song? not exactly: I described, with the utmost sincerity, my feelings experienced by listening to it. The track (and video too) made me lose any hope in the future of humanity, if this was your purpose I guess it is mission accomplished.
Since you ask me, I would like you now to completely overturn the point of view and compose something that describes the immense depth of the human soul in all its contradictions and infinite facets. I would like you to demonstrate what heights humanity can reach by using heart, talent, and tenacity.
Listening to the song posted here, I noticed that you have technical skills: now it's time to aim for your masterpiece

 

You could drop a sample of Genius of Love by Tom Tom Club under that and it would fit perfectly.

 

With such simplicity, it is music that will mostly appeal to pre-schoolers.
Similar to "what does the fox say" or stuff that "The Wiggles" or "Hi-5" would produce.

There is certainly money to be made in that genre so fill your boots.

 

I think it would work as a parody song if you completely changed the lyrics to something funny.
