Thomann experiences

Discussion in 'Internet for Musician' started by Vincent Price, Apr 9, 2022.

  1. Hello

I have ordered some equipment off Thomann, for a 19" rack mount. They say it has been dispatched several days ago, and also gave me a tracking number however DHL say that they cannot find the number in their system...and Thomann say that the parcel with only show up in tracking when it reaches the UK

Has anyone else had experiences like this with Thomann?

Haven't got an issue, I'm just interested to know...I'd have thought you'd have tracking as soon as it entered the DHL system.

England has had the Brexit and is no longer part of the European Union. And therefore can no longer use the advantages of the EU. Just be patient, you can rely on thomann.

  4. Oh Yeah, I have no worries about thomann, just wondered.

I use Thomann both for personal purchases and at my work.

Rock solid firm - no worries.

Only ordered once from Thomann so far. Bought a Behringer UMC1820 to go with my MPC Live and they got it from Germany to California in 4 days flat. Even after international UPS shipping, I still paid less than the retail price for one here in the US.When I finally decide to get it, I'll be ordering my Waldorf M from there too.

If you're in the US, the only catch is most of the time you're going to get a Euro plug for the power supply.. Their packaging I gotta say is top notch too. The Behringer was double boxed and packed better than anything I've ever seen. And bonus points, my cat decided the big shipping box was his new hideout.

I'm in the UK and have used Thomann for years with no problem what so ever. I did stop during the Brexit stupidity as they could not guarantee the prices and VAT until it settled . That is sorted now. Don't worry they are Sound.

Yep. Thomann never ceases to amaze. Great company. amazing communication. Any kind of delay you can thank Brexit... I stopped buying things from Uk altogether now. they fooled me twice. With taxes and customs and delays in delivering... dear lord... would be less expensive to go there and buy them... The delay now to get anything from the uk is just tooooo damn much.

Have bought plenty of stuff from Thomann, and never had any issues, always found them efficient and helpful.

What they're saying about the tracking not being available until the item gets to the UK is consistent with my experience - I emailed them about that very thing in the past, they told me the same, and everything was fine - the tracking appeared a day or two later, and my stuff arrived on time.

Usually takes about a week or so to receive stuff in the UK, you'll prob get an email from DHL the day before it's due to be delivered.

Ordered a Midas MR18 and a Cort A5 Ultra Ash 5 string bass to Canada and got them fast and in perfect shape.
Had to switch out the euro cord on the mixer but its detachable.
The prices were incredible compared to Sweetwater and Canadian retailers.
The bass was $1349 Cdn at Thomann and $2410 Cdn at RedOne Music :woot:

I was waiting for RAM sticks, they said on monday that it was shipped and i already had a shipping number at the time.
It took until thursday, till i could see that it was about to deliver and remember the packet only had to travel 400km, but somehow there was tracking available until a few hours before the delivery. (ofc this was not thomann, some other company.)

Can you find out from where Thomann has shipped it? Then can you calculate how long it will maybe take till its in the UK?

I havnt ordered anything from Thomann, since i have used Musicstore for over 15 years and they have the same prices, but simply use DPD and UPS instead of DHL. Prefer DPD since i can let it deliver to a petrol station near me with 24/7.

    Good luck with the shipment!

DHL once did not deliver a book from thomann, I complained to thomann and then got the book by UPS the next day new. Larger things from thomann I've written please only with UPS because DHL sometimes does not deliver.
thomann has a repair shop where they repair claimed Syntehsizer etc, once was a button defect and once was the memory defective, I have paid nothing and the cost of the return and thomann also took over.

It's DHL. They have a habit of effin' up every so many times, the deal is either they deliver lightning fast or don't show at all. :(

Congratulations again one step further. Spontaneously comes to mind with black photo cardboard, there you could make a fold of 2 cm pure and then fasten in with tacks on the wood.
