Exception std::runtime_error("Could not find BusLayouts specification file!")

    C:\GitLab-Runner\builds\5SpX3sjf\1\dev\cotton\source\cotton\BusLayout.cpp:62

    anyone have solution for this

    thx in advance

I had error messages when Reaper scanned my plugins.
If I open XLN RC20 it crashes my DAW.

    Hi Craig

I had an update issue with the installer as well. I contacted support and in my case they quickly replied:

"I'm sorry to hear about these issues. File mismatch errors usually indicate problems with the internet connection. The most common cause is an unstable Internet connection, in which case retrying the download should solve the issue. If this is not the case, an antivirus and / or firewall running in the background may be the cause; it may stop the Online Installer from accessing the Internet. Try either adding the Online Installer as a "trusted program" or try disabling them temporarily while running the Online Installer."

In my case, seems that the wireless security settings indeed are the issue: At work I cannot update from the public wireless system, whereas from home it still works ok. Still using the same laptop.

Go back to the XLN.Audio.RC-20.Retro.Color.v1.1.1.2.Incl.Patched.and.Keygen-R2R version and try these steps:

    Best Answer
    Try:
Uninstall previous version, and install XLN.Audio.RC-20.Retro.Color.v1.2.6.2
    Go to:
    C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\RC-20 Retro Color\App
    Copy "Sound Data" Folder to:
    C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\RC-20 Retro Color
Copy and execute "RC20_Library_Placer.exe" from previous release to C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\RC-20 Retro Color
    That's all.

I have the exact same problem, only with XO, Win10, Cubase 11 Pro and 9.5 Pro.
Tried all the tips here but no luck. At one point I got rid of the "missing Bus Layout" error message and Cubase loaded the plugin at startup , but then it gets blacklisted as a 32-bit plugin.

Steinberg- Cubase no longer supports 32-bit plugins. Uninstall and install the VST2 / VST3 version.

It is a 64-bit plugin VST2, but for some reason Cubase says it is 32-bit. It only happened once, after trying the steps recommended here in this thread.

    Hi @gurujon, try this:

How to Fix Blacklisted Plugins in Cubase 10

Re-setting the Cubase plug-ins cache manually Print
Modified on: Tue, 12 Jan, 2021 at 3:12 PM
    https://acusticaudio.freshdesk.com/...re-setting-the-cubase-plug-ins-cache-manually

    macOS and VST2 format:
    Close Cubase.
Using macOS Finder go to “~/Library/Preferences/Cubase 11/” (without the quotes).
Manually delete the Vst2xBlacklist Cubase.xml file (to delete the blacklist).
Manually delete the Vst2xBlacklist Cubase (x86_64).xml file (to delete the blacklist).
Manually delete the Vst2xPlugins Cubase (x86_64).xml file (to force a complete new plug-ins scan).
    Re-open Cubase.

    macOS and VST3 format:
    Close Cubase.
Using macOS Finder go to “~/Library/Preferences/Cubase 11/Cubase Pro VST3 Cache/” (without the quotes).
Manually delete the vst3blacklist.xml file (to delete the blacklist).
Manually delete the vst3plugins.xml file (to force a complete plug-in to rescan).
    Re-open Cubase.

    Windows and VST2 format:
    Close Cubase.
    Press Windows key plus R.
Enter “C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase 11\” (without the quotes), and click on OK.
Manually delete the Vst2xBlacklist Cubase.xml file (to delete the blacklist)
Manually delete the Vst2xBlacklist Cubase (x86_64).xml file (to delete the blacklist)
Manually delete the Vst2xPlugins Cubase (x86_64).xml file (to force a complete plug-in to rescan)
    Re-open Cubase.

    Windows and VST3 format:
    Close Cubase.
    Press Windows key plus R.
Enter “C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\Cubase 11\Cubase Pro VST3 Cache\” (without the quotes), and click on OK.
Manually delete the vst3blacklist.xml file (to delete the blacklist).
Manually delete the vst3plugins.xml file (to force a complete plug-in to rescan).
    Re-open Cubase.

After deleting the plug-ins cache files, on the next run, Cubase will re-scan all of your VST2/VST3 plug-ins, and depending on the number of VST2/VST3 plug-ins installed, the process may take several minutes.

I might have found a workaround (for missing Bus Layout in Cubase 11 pro in my case). It seems to be working so far:
    1. Download the 10-day trial version of XO
    2. Install it (online)
    3. Open Cubase and check that the plugin is working.
    4. Install the R2R version over the trial.
    5. Replace the App and Sound Data folders.
    6. Run the Keygen.

The nag screen is gone and everything is seemingly all good.
This might also work with RC-20.

Update: It is still working :)

Thanks for this. I can confirm that this fixes the issue, at least for me, and now opens up fine in Cubase 12.0.10 and Ableton 11.1.1. The same works for DS-10 too.

Everytime I open an existing .song file, all the RC-20 instances in them gets a reset.
I am facing this huge issue.
Everytime, I open a project with RC-20, I am getting this Start tour/tutorial kinda thing and the whole plugin is being reset.
WTF is that? Obviously, XLN did something stupid and not R2R group.
Is there a way to get rid of this issue?

Works with the latest XO release :)

    Thank you very much.

You have to use the Library placer FIRST.
    Than open up DAW.

    delete the Tutorials.xpak at C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\RC-20 Retro Color\App\FXFX0003

or move it somewhere else if you are gonna need it later.
