Hi @Moonlight, I already have my own website, I wanted to recommend a free website to my friend.
No shop - nothing commercial - for a beginner - just selfpresentaion.

Well if what your friend needs is just a simple page he could use heroku, netlify or github pages, all of them are free. The only problem is he need to learn html and css at the very least.

Then it doesn't really matter. If it is just a personal page and it mostly for funzies and doesn't need custom domain linking, a security policy or reliance on a backend just use what you like or can get.

They have control over you, your data and your site. Moreover you can't even run Adsence etc. and they get profits from your traffic etc. Free website costs you more than you can even realize unless if you're a seasonal web designer & developer like me... :hillbilly:

I used dot.tk domain and google drive for hosting ages ago. Then used godaddy and google domain with 000WebHost (for fun) for hosting.

There're many factors for you to choose which hosting, domain, framework, database, language etc you must go for as per your needs.

Although you can choose jamendo, bandcamp, soundcloud, reverbnation etc. for showcasing your talents.

Fyi i like AZ's webpage, specially its JS, whoever coded AZ; my standing ovation to him/her :like:

I suggest you to learn some coding from w3schools.com, codepen.io and use wappalyzer to detect modern technologies which will help you to be self dependent all because you have to learn it today or tomorrow regardless of your background, and yes be careful there are too many skemmers and money suckers in this field, good luck :mates:
