    1. it seems Gigabyte only recommands up to 3200MHz RAM for their Aorus X570 models on their website. in this forum i read that one should better go for 4000 or even 4800MHz RAM when building a DAW. does anyone have a Gigabyte Aorus and can tell if it might be compatible with 4000MHz RAM although not 'supported'?

    2. how much performance difference is there when using 4000MHz compared to 3200MHz RAM? if it s only a bit then i can go with 3200MHz.

    3. which of the 4 different Aorus X570 models (pro, extreme, master, elite) would you recommand for a DAW and why?

btw i m planning on running a Ryzen 9 5950x CPU in this Aorus mobo/DAW.

edit/addon: i just googled around and found the actual limit for the RAM frequency is rather limited by the CPU and not by the mobo. the ryzen 9 5950X only supports max 3200MHz. so then there is no point going for anything higher, right? i ll open another thread for this specific question now as well but feel free to answer this question here too and pls also answer questions 2. and 3. of this thread

You got it wrong, the recommended frequency isnt the max supported frequency, both for the processor and the motherboard, youre usually going to find two informations about ram frequency
    The recommended frequency
and the OVERCLOCK frequency, which is the one you're most going to use if youre going to use 3600mhz ram or higher

5950x oficially supported frequency is 3200, its not the max, its the one that AMD guarantees you that it's going to run, but people had already gone up to 4800mhz with this processor

x570 ain't the best chipset to look if you want ram speed, b550 is newest so it has more room to overclock

not much, in games youre going to find arroud 3-5% of difference based on your system (if you have a powerfull enough video card)
in production youre going to find that huge libraries gonna load faster, also you can go lower on latency too

x570 Aorus Pro supports up to 4200mhz in O.C

Also, I don't recommend you any motherboard that has built in wifi, because this can cause pretty heavy latency issues and stutterings while producing

You don't "need" 4800mhz for a daw, but the more ram frequency you have, the better it will be, ain't like having 3200mhz will stop you from being able to produce, tbh, you can produce even with 1366mhz of ram (I already did it xD) aint the best scenario but if you cant afford 4800mhz ram sticks then you're pretty much fine with 3200, 3600 and even 4000, because those are pretty affordable.

As I said, Gigabyte Aorus Pro supports up to 4200mhz on O.C

check the manufacture homepage of the mainboard, they have charts. And why another topic? Isnt the other one enough?

    Gigabyte X570 Aorus
    https://www.gigabyte.com/Search?submit=&kw=x570+aorus#Products-2-1

Under board lists you will find a Support List link. From that page, choose your CPU model/architecture.

It may be hard to stop the driver process, it isnt about the wifi itself, its about the drivers latency

PCpartspicker does a compatibility check. enter your motherboard and it will list what is compatible.
