    a vst3 effect plugin is showing as synth and moving it (fst) and the nfo file to the effects folder doesnt fix it,
    rescanning doesnt work either,
    if you drag the fst to the mixer, it says "you tried to open an effect plugin into a channel. Open P42 Climax in the mixer instead."

    VST3 plugins have a VST3 file extension.

    Loading a VST3 in FL Studio
    -> Browser in the drop down menus.
    1. Navigate to "Plugin database."
    2. Expand Installed -> Generators -> VST3

    To load an Effect - Left-click the pop-up menu arrow at the left end of the slot and use the 'select' option.

    For now, try to check the "Verify Plugins" option, if you didn't do that, and rescan the plugins. And leave .vst3 where it was.

    you have to clarify, what type he VST3 is, when you code it. Maybe it was done wrong as it was build?

    If its a MIDI effect, load it as a synth. FL doesn't support VST MIDI effects.

    I don't think any dev can get that wrong, tbh.

    EDIT: Looks like an FX plugin, so do one thing change the type of plugin in FL from "synth" to "effect" and try again.
