Ever had iLok account or device issues? If not, you are one of the lucky ones.
Even when things go smoothly, there is the time spent installing iLok & ensuring all applications & plugins are activated 100%.
Time wasted either way so, a hassle.

No legit VEP users complain about extra license payments?
Before to move to ilok i had 3 licenses, now 1 if i need more i have to pay extra…very unfair crap.
Deserve a crack absolutely, but the evil dark side mac will be uncovered, i hope for short time only….
The free side game (audiogridder) does not supports libraries…is here any feedback from it (mac as master and win as slave)?

When you are a Mac user, and have experienced App Store lost password recovery; there is nothing iLok can do to surpass it. It is karma for anyone who has ever bypassed anything via lost password.

Apple literally gives you the time and date, 3 weeks from the day; when they will call you at 3:50AM your time to give you the secret code to get your App Store login reactivated. ilok can only aspire to that level of consumer gangster. it's like ransomeware. it's always a freshly formatted hd, so you're screwed.

Been able to recover Apple I.D. on-line through their user management support system. Had not used for a few years.
Use only Logic Pro & Melodyne on MacBook.

Due to Windows antiquated & vulnerable code, Windows seems to self corrupt over time. Slower for an off-line machine but, still occurs nonetheless. This as you said results usually in a fresh install as Windows backups are hit & miss on restoration accuracy.

Planning on moving away from Windows and any other software that causes time to be wasted needlessly.

 

Exactly. And it's really easy to manage licenses when e.g. using the same license on several computers on hardware iLok or bound to a machine. Much more convenient than Steinbergs USB licenser for instance.
But I've never had any problems with ilok. Never.
But I must confess, I do backups. Frequently.
Others may have had broken keys and may tell another story.

In the end I do like licenses on iLok much more than all this online activation crap for every program and plugin. And yes, I liked even the USB licenser for Steinbergs software. It justs worked.

For online activated software It takes me several days to get all licenses on all machines up and running again after a hardware switch. Every vendor is using his own shitty scheme on his own mor or less funtional servers. I really hate that. Much work without any payment (and I'm using only 1 laptop, 1 PC and 3 VSL servers. I can't imagine what a big studio will have to manage).
That's the main reason why I love and use cracked software in the first place although I own legit licenses.

Yes. When they all work! The most public display of iLok failing that comes to mind, I believe, was the 2018 Namm Mixing With the Masters.

 

No. Never. But if I own a license on iLok I don't use cracked software. I use cracks for software with online activation only. Maybe that is why I didn't have had it yet?.

But would have things gone better if one uses only online activated stuff and the activation decides to say goodbye on such a day of all days.
It happened to me over this weekend in my home studio: two plugins had lost their activation. Without any reason.
If this happens on a stage, it is certainly not funny.
