    Stating the Obvious:

It's all good and well to state Intellectual / Mechanical and other copyright laws in regards to music software, music and anything related to them. There was a time last century they actually meant something and were enforced on a regular basis ~HOWEVER~

Spotify, Pandora and just about every streaming site on the Internet has proven that in this century, you can state as much as you like but it does not mean jack shit anymore. Theoretically, a Pirate meant to steal and resell. This is what Spotify and streaming sites do returning a pittance to the owner. People who copy and resell what they do not own for profit are Pirates. People who copy for their own use who do not distribute are what? Copying software they did not buy.

They are companies and companies only have the job of making money.
Make money - Invest your money and make it grow - Make more money - Buy others out - Get others to work for you.
Hire people who have ideas - Wave a few dollars and they will follow you.

    Capitalist market is SATURATED worldwide.
What most ppl don't understand ...

And YES, even "virtual" things are saturated.
HOW MANY soundbanks, plugins, DAWs ... ? How many music released every day ?
    Even for free ?

Ask yourself WHY Steinberg dropped their uncracked protection ... and got cracked instantaneously.
Do you REALLY think they are dumb ?

Did you seen how many devs closed doors in the last few months ?
Brands buy each others EVERY WEEK.

Once again : WORLDWIDE MARKET IS SATURATED
    Whatever sector you take

People die every day and new people are born every day.
Buyers die and new buyers are born.

In case of sample-based instruments, you need the thing you actually want to sample, a recording equipment and a recording environment. In addition to whatever you need to write a software.

warez isn't a very viable tool to use since the developer is usually maintaining their own software updates and crack groups have no obligation to do that. also paid software is a pain too because of all the red tape if you have a bunch of products. so i use freeware. i might try something that's been molested by the sister site but there's really nothing commercial that can't be achieved with creativity and freeware and hard work. everything commercial was made that way in the first place, by research and hard work.

also for as long as the internet has existed there have been cracks. every developer probably has used cracks of something at some point either knowingly or unknowingly. I'm at the point where i have more freeware software than i have time left in my life to learn them all. So maybe freeware is more dangerous to the market than cracks.
