Quite a onesided top 5. Mostly simple and popular music.

I'm a Kpop neo-orchestral acid psytrance hybrid - minimal producer and I found value but I would expect a Kpop orchestral psytrance hybrid producer to not understand.

As a side note, my friend who is also one of the biggest names in the Kpop orchestral psytrance macro genre was inspired by Rick Rubin so you never know

musicradar about Hurt by Johnny Cash: 'the fact that the vocal track begins to distort is a perfect example of Rubin’s performance-over-perfection approach when it comes to recording' or IOW, a perfect example of wrong gain.

About Raining Blood by Slayer : 'The snares crack on every beat; Lombardo’s groundbreaking bass drums punch through.' Err, what? Either my ears are broken or Stuart Williams' are.

i suspect that between your listening monitors and those of the guys lie a few tens of thousands of dollars ... so neither you nor the guys are wrong... it is the possibilities for perception :winker::yes:

So I went on to read who TF Rick Rubin is, since you clearly hld him for some authority, and while I can't say anything particularily bad about him, he really is a onesided producer. Those five songs won't give me anything for my styles, not even Jizzy's - and I worked with Hip-Hop for most of my career.
So yeah, his style is too onesided to speak for all producers.

You need to hear "Scar Tissue" or any other song from Californication, if you want to know, how NOT to dial in your overall sound.
Don't get me wrong, I really like this record and had a great time listening to it... but now that I'm aware of how distorted and brick-walled it sound, it is almost impossible for me to listen to it on louder levels. With good headphones it almost hurts. Jesus, why the hell you want to sound like this??

On the other hand it is of course very well produced, in terms of creativity, energy, arrangement choices, etc.
But the overall sound... take it as a reference of what is too much compression.

why are you offended ? i just suggested you a thread where you feel comfortable, among your friends .... because you find my thread useless, i just wanted to do you something good .... i only mean well with you .... i can't help it now if you have a strong resemblance to the BLACK ROOSTER and find my suggestions an insult ... not my fault
