There are also some contender out there such as GIG Performer, Camelot and others .. i never used all of them.
Anyone get the chance to share their experience with it?

Many recommend Cantabile or Gig Performer. The best thing is to test it yourself!

    1.) Gig Performer
In trial mode, Gig Performer® will be fully functional for 14 days except for occasional intentionally induced audio drop-outs
during which moments the screen will briefly flash red. To remove these drop-outs, please purchase the full version.

2.) Cantabile - Download Free Trial

Has anyone compared it to Kushview Element community version?

From just looking at the screenshots, I prefer the mixer layout in Element. That's something you would get used to pretty fast I guess. Is the UI customizable like Element?

I occasionally use it when I'm on Windows, but in the end I'm not sure how it's better in any ways, compared to let's say lightweight DAWs ?

For me, it's great when I wanna do sound design and just sound design, for the VSTs that don't have stand-alone. If I'm working in a daw, I start with sound design but 15 minutes later I'm making yet another track that won't go beyond 8 bars...

I don't wanna start another DAW war here, but let's say Reaper feels to me about equally reliable for live use, and for ex. Bitwig offers handy plugin sandboxing to prevent crashes on live performance

Have you tried Studio One SHOW?
    Works fine in live performance.

No one has mentioned Unify! This is the VST host killer of them all. You can host any VST2, VST3, AAX or AU instrument or EFX plugin. Stack them however you like and split them however you like. This is a must have for anyone...And it's only $79. Skippy is always adding functionality, enhancements, patch libraries and 3rd party libraries and VSTs are constantly being "Unified". Check it out at pluginguru.com!

i used lite version 2 or 1 as i had a deadline for a soundset. It was great to jut focus on hitting notes and create presets. I have never tried the other "more professional" versions.

I recommend it, if you just want to focus on sound design or want to test plugins out. (but there is always reaper, which is also just perfect for that.)
