This is one of those quirky things, but agreed, usability from the UI downwards does affect the way we deal with our tools.

Since I've used Battery for years I've become blind to it's interface but it let's me go where I want. But would I recommend it to a newcomer who wants a drum sampler? I don't know, but it's very nice to have alternatives for whatever people want to mangle their sounds with.

So the more the merrier in my opinion and given that TAL has released a lot of quality software I'm all for it.

Reminds me of Super 8 in Reaper, I'm curious, TAL usually makes great stuff, although I'm already good enough with Atlas 2.

In Reaper you can just throw whatever audio in the timeline to any sampler, just clicking ctrl + alt + drag. No need to bounce anything at all, works for every plugin I tested.

In the same way that an old beat up Fender can be inspiring to someone playing roots-oriented music, I think a plugin's appearance can be inspiring to some folks, myself included (to a point). Personally, I love the way TAL plugins look. Hell, I even liked the old default poop brown of their sampler.

I usually don't need a sequencer in a VSTi drum machine because you know - you have your DAW which is a sequencer and Reaper does it really good, even have all the different shuffling with the SWS extension. But I understand absolutely what you mean. I would also like to be able to trigger pre-recorded patterns from a VSTi drum machine. Very handy for live gigs.
