I was wondering if anyone here knows sites/resources for information on how to sideload games on quest2. Specially how to do it in a safe way and not get banned from faceb .

 

Hi. Nobody will grant you the FB ban cannot happen if you download games from outside sources and play them online. There is a risk. I don't know if this happened already in the past or if its happening now, but you know... We all remember the Xbox 360 ban days !!! XD XD XD

SideQuest ( BETA ) in the Playstore. I don't own a quest so can't test it. I do hope to get one at some stage.

 

I use sidequest and it works great. Dunno about Facebook's banning policy - they were even banning peoples accounts for using fake names, so caveat emptor, but I haven't heard anything about them explicitly banning people for what they're sideloading. I am a vr dev so I only really use it for sideloading my own apks, no cracks.
But if you don't want Facebook to see what you're doing on the device, and you have a pc that can can handle vr games, you can just use Oculus air link and stream wirelessly, which has worked brilliantly for me. Or get a decent usb cable (don't get the official cable but get one of the quality third party compatibles which are around 20 USD I think) which may be better if you have an older, slower router.

 

There is a method you can use the Quest2 without loging into facebook at all. I also know that there is a way to block the headset connection to the internet and have it only access the home network. So maybe this is a way to go!? I have found some good sites with discussion and resources for the quest2 but they are all russian and translates are not always accurate and can't enter the discussion to ask any questions. So I was hoping to find english pages. I don't have a problem with the airlink, but my PC is an old gen3 intel (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHz) with 8gig ram and I'm not sure this laptop is able to run the games!
