As we all know the great Alchemy by Camel Audio isnt made any more and it just became part of Logic Pro. I was checking out the Logic pro official page here: https://www.apple.com/ca/logic-pro/plugins-and-sounds/

and there's a tab call Reflections. and the preset is called Arpeggio Symphony. Amazing sound.

I was wondering if someone with a Mac and Logic pro can upload all the presets for us to try on Windows. danke!

 

Alchemy is part of Logic Pro X which uses a different layout than the older Windows version. If at all possible, could mean a huge amount of time gathering, converting & testing. Is it really worth it?

Plenty of Windows based Sampler Instruments to explore & tweak. Have you thought about recreating what you heard that way?

I just meant some very large amount of work. it doesn't matter what it is, only to illustrate the point.

honestly, if I made a "TOP 10 reasons to get a Mac (or even just Logic)". list, I do not think Alchemy would even occur to me to add to it. It's probably why you have never seen this already done, in one form or another.

Can't you get the old 32bit Camel version working on Windows? All the content is still on tracker, too. I know the specific presets you are asking about won't be included. it's still a big hd space synth.

 

Im trying to make a hackintosh right now. If it boots, ill install logic pro x and see if i can get it.

 

The last thing you will be worried about is getting samples out of logic back to your Windows. But should you want to, use Logic's AutoSampler. it is great. Very similar to the pc program SampleRobot, which is awesome but like 400$.

Note: Because of updates to Logic Pro Alchemy controls and features, patches might not sound exactly the same as they did in Camel Audio Alchemy. Also, automation doesn’t carry over to Logic Pro Alchemy.

 

With Logic Installed, you should be able to download any wanted content through the Logic download/library manager.

 

Logic will get large like a fat man at dinner if you let it.

Here's an example of how Logic Autosampler rendering a plugin (Alchemy in this case) turns out. they are a slow process because it works in realtime. Ok my pos Hackitosh worked out. I got a lot of trouble getting the audio to work it was some SSDT-HPET thing. Logic 10.7 works. I plugged in the midi controlled and viola!, instant sound comes out just like ASIO on windows. Logic seems pretty neat and straightforward so far but its nothing compared to Studio One.

 

Logic Pro has a lot under the hood that spanks Studio One. Definitely more efficient.

Make sure that you enable Advanced Features in Logic preferences.

 

In which respect, look closer, especially the stock instruments and FX are much more superior than anything in StudioOne. There are many other things. Of course S1 also got stuff you do not find in Logic or at least solved in a different way.

I dont really like stock plugins in any daw but i guess lol alchemy is one of them so you got a point.

 

update.

the preset is actually called Luscious Arp Layers.
I tried moving it into old Alchemy 1.55 in windows but it doesn't accept it. I modified the acp file to fixed the version and deleted all the lines that Windows Alchemy doesn't accept it loads but its just a saw wave lol.

So yeah, its too different from the Logic Version.

The original Camel Audio Alchemy has such a wealth of excellent presets that make irrelevant to cling to just one.
