Not sure hiring this guy helps them sell the product either, lol.

I tried it, as an old user of cubase VSTstudio, Nuendo.. right up to Air's Cubase 5 (the last good cubase).. I had to at least look. And yeah, it's still an utter mess of a DAW with that GUI that got changed after V5/V6 to this horrible thing. And of course the same bloated multiple windows for everything cubase UI that just sucks.

And for those, like some above, saying it's because users don't know it.. I know cubase like the back of my hand, I spent 10 years with it.. I even had a Steinberg Houston (and MR816x) with it and did plenty of work , but it was nowhere near as good as Pro Tools or even Studio One for productivity and clear editing/workflow. Any DAW will do a job but why should be tolerate bad GUIs and bad workflow? That's insanity. PT remains the only 'clear overview' DAW on Earth with everything from one edit screen (all plugs/inserts no multipanes needed). H.E.A.T still sounds better than any alternative too. I now use PT 12.5hd with 24 Fader D-Command which is like a ferrari in the controller world compared to the giant mouse/multi purpose trash most DAWs have (NUAGE isn't bad but you can't pick it up as cheap as a used DCommand < used to cost £25k btw)

That said, it's very cool VR 'liberated' C12 so fast for us to try... but I already deleted it. Now if they could sort out latest Pro Tools Ultimate we'd have something to really cheer about (Still on AU's 12.5 HD which still rocks and still blows all other DAWs away - yes inc studio one which I have installed still for old projects from my few years spent on that - S1 would be my second choice after PT though even if it also suffered from a bad GUI change after V3/4 and too much emphasis on gimmicks over mixing/editing).

    bullshit from a fanboy
Cubase has its place, so does PT, Live, Reason and even Reaper (jk ;))
AiR was the last good Version, even Houston?
    you super Pro:rofl:

That's your opinion, and that's ok.
But to what extent does your dislike of Cubase add to the discussion?
It is a form of politeness that should be practiced (not only) here, if you don't have a clue (your knowledge is from 2009!), to just keep your meaningless opinion for youself.

Or does it bring you any good if you know that I like tall women with blond hair?

In other words: It's a Cubase/Nuendo thread, not a Comparing DAWs thread
    05-03-_2022_16-13-23.jpg
    So it's just off topic.

Every time they vaccinate a new major DAW people start to talk shit about it. Happened with Ableton, Studio One, Pro Tools... you name it.

The latest is Cubase Pro. Fight!!

Time what on the topic, again, if that's ok?
I have it somehow in mind that when updating to v12 the v11 version would be disabled on the USB licenser.
But in fact that did not happen. I still have v11 active on the USB stick.

Yes, if you update from previous version, Cubase 12 is activated through new licensing system and the old one stays on eLicenser as "Non-upgradeable"
So you can have both versions running if you want to.

It makes sense since you own anything bellow the current version you own. This gives the old users an advantage over the new users who never had the dongle.

maybe older Dongle versions will become sought after, for people with old(er) projects,
but i think, theoreticly they changed that since 10.5, practically since V11.
i had to do it (open older Projects) for a client, Oldest/last version available was sx3 i think (serverside).

You never know what will happen when you open an ancient project in a newer version. Good to have several versions installed if possible.

it was mostly ok, but there where hiccups i forgot about, like older waves having strictly mono versions+
and then, trying to, remember what the last version of waves, having that config actually was.:suicide:

Not complaining. I kind of enjoy the show . And there're a minority.

Edited: Oh my goodness gracious me. A certain TC-Team (former URET?) just cracked too (patched, no emulation?) Cubase Pro 12. Fuck me twice with a rusty chainsaw if I'm not flipping. Has cracking Cubase 12 become fashionable?
    Man, good times...

Just checked, Cubase 12 pro on Mac intel has improved the performance twice compared to C11 pro.
