Grabbed all 8 original AKAI-S sample cd iso's a few months back. stuff them into halion 7 and they work nicely without conversions. Halion actually reads the real cd iso's - go figure

 

So does Kontakt. You can also use Alcohol Portable in Windows for mounting Akai-Emu-Roland ISOs and normal ISOs, even compressed ISZs. Best image mounter for Windows

 

For Kontakt imports on those iso's it's only the older Kontakt versions 5 and below that will import the cd's directly yes? Newer versions like K6 & K7 won't read those formats anymore?

 

That's right. K5 (32bit) or earlier only. K6+ won't support Akai CDs or even soundfonts anymore. So I still use K5 to load and convert older samples to Kontakt native format.

 

Hi all - lurker who has finally joined because of this subject. I still have a lot of mine bought in the 90s...!

I was wondering if anyone knows where I'd go about finding (not looking for rule-breaking links or anything) a very obscure 90s sample CD: Analogue Solutions Sounds Of Old. It was I think from 1994, and Analogue Solutions don't even have a copy anymore - they sold them many years ago but only make hardware now.

I have looked far and wide across Archives and every other place under the sun (including all the suggested collections in this thread, and more). The only place I have ever found one ever is someone in Germany who has one for sale via some local eBay knock-off which won't let you even join without an Eastern European phone number... trust me, I tried.
Any leads at all would be very gratefully received as it has some samples on it which as far as I know are completely unique and unavailable elsewhere (MDC-1 drum samples notably). Cheers.
