There will be no music fair in Frankfurt in 2022. And not after that either.

There is news around the Musikmesse in Frankfurt: Once again, there will be no fair in 2022. And there will be some changes for the time after that. It will no longer take place as we know it. Probably not under the name either.

Behringer - factory in China creates them (almost) all.

At the same time the end of the trade fair / Musikmesse Frankfurt is declared!

The reasons for this are market-related. The market structure has changed in such a way that no economic perspective can be expected. This does not affect the successful Music China, which makes a significant value contribution to the company.

A small glimmer of hope: the public formats Musikmesse Plaza and Musikmesse Festival are to be relaunched at a later date.

Yes the music industry has exploited musicians for decades. Even the trade show was a luxury expensive outing. And knowing the organizers, I can say that the booths were also horribly expensive. The hotels were also overpriced and in the fair one was culinary also forced to consume the expensive.

First much must die so that new can arise. The times change just again in all unthinkable concerns in the most brutal way. Quite badly like wars, what I reject überhaubt and regret because of the poor people. But also energy crisis, climate crisis, virus crisis dice everything up.

What spotyfie and internet have done to the music scene now ends the other crises. There will be far fewer world stars in the future. Much more regional stars will find their niches. The bands have it hard. But there are more individual artists who make their homerecordings. Recording studios and event companies will be less and less. A huge depression is going on. So many existences that are kaput and it is not over yet for a long time.

Still many will not make it. Bad, sad, tragic. I feel so sorry for all of them. I hope we can find a way out of this dark tunnel. We should buy music in the form of hardware again. Get back to enjoying vinyl and CD's and not downloading. That would revitalize the industry. But just...only dreams....
