Yes we can activate offline but for now you must be online to use dorico 4 even you have a trial license or full license in your Steinberg account!!!

 

Just be patient a bit - New licensing system will be ready in full when Cubase 12 comes out. I'm sure Steinberg won't shoot itself with it

There is No need to wait at our cost and our money to fix steinbergs chaotic licensing mess. I for 1 will not be upgrading to cubase 12 with these lieing ferals.

No more enough is enough at our cost
First it was you must purchase dongle at extra expense to use our software after you purchase at high expense at well over $800 Dollars for cubase
Here in my country cubase is $872 dollars

Now its trust us we are making it better but new customers keep purchasing give us your money while we sort out a new licensing.

now its you need to wait longer for us to fix our shiftful mess but you must stay online while using our software that is again at the customers expense
No internet No software. And cubase 12 will need to be online at over $872 by the time it comes out with paying for another upgrade to version 12

They already shoot themselves in the foot they think we are stupid and dont see there intentions its very clear after today.

Customers need to move to different software to teach these morons and leave these liars to go bankrupt for telling lies in their previous annoucements to us all that there would be no need to be online to use there software

Customers will see they have been ripped off with this companys blantant lies good bye steinberg our pc dont need to be online to use your software.

First, calm down your tone - I'm not your buddy so you can't talk to me like that when I just wrote what I know so far. Second - of course I don't work for them. I'm in the same boat as you and thousands of users waiting to see how the product I've paid full price will look like in the future.

You have official Steinberg forum and customer support so tell it to them.

They have changed that policy in December I think, which clearly says that
For initial activation internet connection is a must, after that your PC can be offline for good.
Now they are preparing complete offline activation but for them that will be doom, but good opportunity for Team VR or Team R2R to make it as legit as is possible, and I believe someone can make it like Team VR has made legit license generator so we can use untouched retail installers... That is the main GOAL !
Like always Dorico, is the first victim they put on risk to be cracked, so nobody should touch Dorico until Cubase 12 stable is out...
Because they will easly patch any flaw and patching flaws means harder and improved protection
Having a legit software with a true keygen, that would be a dream.

Yes I do know everything because I am Nostradamus and at the same time I am working for Steinberg... Just kidding, it is power of reading articles, which seem to be unknown skill for you...
Just go and read how new licensing system works.. Simple as that.

Internet connection is required just to activate software - initial activation,
after that you can unplug you PC from internet and stay offline.
In the future will come complete offline activation authorization system, but Steinberg is stalling with that feature because that will make them easy to break system and being cracked.
And all of this applies to legit users, because they are not cracked yet.

What I know to be correct from a similar disposition as Hennesey - reading a lot but not only on Steinberg / Dorico forums.
The Internet connection is only required to activate the software. They get that people do not want to use their DAW and expose it to potential danger on The Internet. So they devised it where you only have to do it once theoretically so he's totally correct. There is mention of it needing to be done annually, but I do not have Cubase 12 yet so I cannot confirm that until it is fully released.

However, one has been cracked. What I gather is they already know that Dorico 4 has been cracked and will probably ramp up a few of the authorization / encryption algorithms. As for Cubase 12 and other new updates being cracked, they're not even released yet and if they ramp the security up, they may not be for a very long time.
I think they're looking at a system where you only have to use your phone to do it and not your DAW at all. That has been thrown about too. I have no idea how that would work unless your phone also communicates with your DAW but it has been mentioned a lot. Reading helps but it still is not definitive until they release a changed system of authorization from the current one as an official notification.

 

I am eagerly waiting to switch from Samplitude to Wavelab, I hope that they sort out the new licensing system quickly so I can jump ship without the hassle of transitioning into the new one.
