i´m surprised there is even a discussion!?

time and time again jbl 305 rank highest in price performance by users
then the yamahas hs7 (hs80), besides the jbl i hated most of the 5" (bass) speakers
    of all labels

308 if the room allows, or you need the volume, if you listen often on max volume.
the 305 may not be enough as that is their only drawback, they loose the dynamic range
in the upper register of volume

6"KRK rokit are a lot of fun, not the cleanest, but Loads of fun!
everything above (6") you may need to be lucky with your room!
    Or pretty big bass traps!!

    2nd hand
these all play in the below 600 range
older adam p11 better even p22
with them you wont even miss your genelec, they kill the genelc 1030, 1031-1032

Used Yamha hs80 may come in handy better are
JBL LSR 2325 and LSR 2328

the Presonus may be cool, only heard the V1
as i said 5" sucks, above may be better

    good luck

In my experience, the 305P MKII's are way more pleasant for casual listening than the HS8's i've used, but i'm not sure if they are very similar to the HS7's. I've never used the LSR 305's but i did own a pair of 305P MKII's. In this comparison however i'd choose these 305P MKII's over the LSR's:

I have no opinion on the KRK's.

Screenshot 2022-02-24 233300.png I don't know if I am becoming insane or .... But never been so confused and never hesitated this much!
Decided not to go the second hand route. This is what I am going to order. If you have any objections speak
now or forever hold your peace.

Go for it! Decent price also. I usually take much more time to hesitate when i want to buy something.

Really, just buy JBL 305 MKII and keep them about 35-50db for mixing

    Hello guys,
The speakers finally arrived today (One day later then promised). I just finished setting them up and did not have much time with them. But for the few minutes I used and listen to them I am quiet surprised! Having only worked with my Genelec speakers, I can only compare them to those speakers. They sound VERY good and honestly I didn't expect to get this quality for only 220 Euros!! If my ears are not wrong the only part they have a shortcoming for me are in the bass. Don't get me wrong, the bass is not missing or that bad, but they are not as round and present as with the Genelec. I was able to hear this even more when singing. My voice seems to not have the round and fullness in the lows (bass) and seems like there is too much treble. I don't know if I need to re-equalize my MIC or accept the sound as it is!

Anyway I am VERY happy to finally have my monitors and want to thank all of you for helping me out.

Edit: MIC sound problem is almost fixed by setting the mic entry volume right and adjusting sound settings in Studio One. These monitors rock!

You might need the boundary EQ activated at the rear (perhaps only -1.5 dB), since they're so close to the wall.

Edit: also try the HF trim.

    And uh :dont:

lol funny you mentioned that! but a little too late! I learned my lesson the hard way an hour ago. I spilled the glass on the damn keyboard!
God thanks the glass was almost empty and after 30 minutes and some hairdryer piano works OK! :suicide:
For few minutes some keys were sounding double (as if I was playing two notes) and some lost their weight (they sounded as if I am hitting them with all my force when playing them normally)! But all fixed now and lesson learned!

    Congratulations on your new monitors.

I see on the photo that your speakers are a little too close to the wall.

BOUNDARY EQ SWITCH - This switch compensates for acoustic anomalies in the bass range that can occur when speakers are placed on a work surface or close to walls.Possible settings are 0 dB, -1.5 dB and -3 dB. Select the setting that provides the most natural bass response for the application.

HIGH FREQUENCY TRIM SWITCH - This switch allows you to raise or lower the treble response by 2 dB at a time. Select the setting that provides the desired high frequency response for the application.
