Nexus 2.2 (AiR) not finding Nexus Content on new install?

    Finally installed everything, but somehow Nexus 2 doesnt find its sample content. ROM Ext is listed as installed Expansion. Saw init is found and plays.

    But i still cant select a presets! The preset list is empty.

    Moved Nexus content to Boot disk after it failed from the 2nd partition.

    I used jbridge and DDMF bridge to run Nexus, both in Ableton Live 11.1 and Reaper 6.15. But still the same problem.

    (yeah i am aware that there is N3 with more XPs, but i dont need it.)

    I am on windows 10 Pro 21H2 x64 in Live 11.1/Reaper 6.15.

    Any ideas?

    (Sidenote: Nexus 2 found the folder without problems on an external SSD on my notebook, running Live 11.1 and windows 10 Pro 20H2), had to scan a bit, but it found the Folder.

    The folder name is " Nexus Content " 14,7 GB !

    Did you delete it by mistake or move it to another folder ?

    I think you need to click on Autorun

    P.S It works on Windows 11 Pro for me :headbang:

    My "Nexus Content" Folder is here:

    I use with jbridge and DDMF Bridge also and have installed nearly all .nxp expansions within the Nexus v2.2.0 VSTi. I had trouble with quite a few expansions not working like Vintage Drums, SID, Vocoder and a few more didn't work but run the AiR eLicenser Emulator Setup and all seem to work OK now after re-installing those broken expansions.

    I'm also on Windows 10 Pro 21H2 x64 Build 19044.1566

    the ROM Ext is only 3,3GB from the AiR DVD. Its 14,8 something GB if you installed all XPs, which i didnt.
    I didnt delete it installed it new on the desktop. I usually copy the Nexus Content folder somewhere, then install AiRs setup from the DVD, open VST in DAW and then it scans. Worked on two computers before. :dunno:

    I have no Expansions installed, its the stuff from the DVD, just copied as outlined in the readme pdf. (i have installed nexus 2 so many times, it always found the Content.)

    I am wondering where Nexus saves the Content folder path?

    reFX - Nexus v2 VSTi - 3,2 GB - 32 Bit - Air

    Installation:
    1. Install Nexus 2 Setup.exe
    2. Copy "Nexus Content" folder to the location of your choice (normally same folder as Nexus.dll)
    3. Load plugin and it will auto-scan your harddisk(s) for the content folder

    IMPORTANT Note:
    Our release allows the importing of every Nexus v1.x expansion or skin through the Nexus2 interface. If you use expansions released by other groups we strongly suggest you import the large .nxp file again. Specifically if you have installed the fxp fix-up executable that was included with some expansion releases. Our release doesn't need patched presets because it performs all fxp decryption correctly using the proper method :)

    *** If you want to be absolutely sure you should install Nexus2 clean then import each expansion and skin available ***

    - delete your existing Nexus1 content folder
    - uninstall Nexus1
    - install Nexus2
    - install all expansions and skins

    I found the problem: when you load nexus 2.2 with DDMF bridge, it will create no database for the presets. I have deleted everything and opened Nexus with jbridge, then scan and creating the database was successful.

    Your answer jogged my memory some. Maybe someone will find useful in the future?

    Regardless if I remember correctly since it's a 32-bit plugin you have to use either a 32bit DAW or a DAW that has built in bridging (FL, Bitwig, Reaper) the first time you open (can't hurt to run as admin). Also jbridge but I'm not familiar with going that route, if you'd like to expand more @ArticStorm

    Also, just not seeing that you found your answer like a year ago, my bad lol.

    Maybe Nexus Content has the same name?

    I managed to have N2 and N4 installed at the same time with different Content folders on the same SSD.
    You need to rename the Content folder of N4 to something else (and also change that in the settings, the name should come before the Nexus Content folder for N2, otherwise N2 tries to load presets from there and fails).

    N2 seems to have fixed folder name for looking for the library, while N4 has this changable in the settings.json file.

    Otherwise i have no idea. Runs your N2 inside jbridge or DDMF bridge?

    I solved it by deleting all the files of nexus 2 3 4 in system and in registre editor.and then I installed first nexus2 and then nexus4.and in the plugin manager you need to rename nexus to nexus2 and nexus to nexus4 so that later the projects correctly open the right one nexus

    Note: Don't mix 2 and 4 content to the same folder. Have Nexus 2 content named 'Nexus Content' Have Nexus4 content named 'A Nexus Content'.
    As you can see when you try to edit the content path for nexus 2 in regedit, it changes back to nexus 4 content folder. Now what you need to to for the Nexus 2 to stop scanning Nexus 4 content is you need to Hide the fist folder of the Nexus 4 content 'just the first folder and not the subfolders.'
    Now that nexus 4 content is hiden you can now scan nexus 2 content and successfully edit in the regedit and it won't change it back to nexus 4 content folder. [​IMG]
