I think Spire has the Roland detune curve in it as well, I think it's when you turn the density knob all the way to the left (check the manual to be sure) - be sure to set the unison to 7.

Kinda funny that "Spire is more suited for modern EDM". I see many many trance producers use Spire, and trance sounds are in no way modern. Spire sounds way more sexy for trance. Ofc spire is just as good for modern sounds, but its kinda replaced by Serum.

But you are a sound designer you know better, I never saw any trance or hardstyle producer use Diva for the core sounds.

The Spire has its own sound character. If a virtual synthesizer has a supersaw it does not mean that it is suitable for modern EDM and trance music.

For Trance the Cakewalk - zeta+ is very good, also the reFX - Vanguard does a good job. The Vengeance - Avenger, the Synapse Audio - Dune and the Lennar Digital - Sylenth 1 are very good plugins for trance. The company U-HE does a great job and all plugins are very good. Adam Szabo - Viper is a matter of taste, either you like it or not. Without a compressor they all lack the necessary punch. It's just software and not hardware. The Waldorf - Largo has the fat powerful filters. The Nexus 3 sounds cold and almost all presets have too much reverb.

Arturia is a very modern company that surprises us again and again, also the company korg is Up to Date.
These older plugins (mostly only 32 bit) were very good at that time, but today they are not up to date anymore: SuperWave P8, CFA-Sound Super-7, TranceDrive by Maik Menz, Lallapalloza Lite VST by Buzzroom, Pterosaur VST by Contralogic.
The AirMusicTech - Hybrid was very advanced back then, but it sounds a bit powerless today.

Everyone will find their sound and keep the best for themselves. It never gets boring.

Every VST today can be used for an extensive selection of genres. Steve (Thrillseekers) uses Diva a lot (also Repro 1/5). Using it for bass, leads/plucks, and pads.

    Some lesser known ones:

SONICBITS Silk (similar to JP6K - a tribute to the 7-layer supersaw)
aciddose Xhip (free synth with a supersaw mode (pwm when using saw waveform), up to 16 saws - some like how it sounds)
excess sanestation (free - a very unknown demoscene vst, has a cool waveform spread mode with random phase, sounds great!)
Archetype Instruments Lokomotiv (free - dedicated supersaw oscillator, can be mixed with PWM and hard sync and subosc for BIG sounds)

And phasey and overcompressed, just removing the shitty limiter that comes by default on most factory patches can give better results, but yea. Some presets have reverb inbuilt in them so it can't be turned off.

Sunrizer is built upon a familiar subtractive synth design – but with a distinct character and a host of unique features. It starts with two oscillators and two sub-oscillators that deliver all of the basic waveforms and a perfect emulation of JP-8000 “supersaw”, with pulse width, frequency and ring modulation plus a lush unison mode. www.beepstreet.com/plugins/sunrizer

Pterosaur is a 16 oscillator synth. It’s loosely inspired by the classic Supersaw sound of the Roland JP-8000 in that the output of each oscillator can be independently detuned and panned, creating a very rich sound. www.contralogic.com/vst-plugins/pterosaur/
