In reality, there is only one Windows operating system and it is constantly being adapted to the digital world with your requirements.
Please do not make such an artificial hype because of a new version number.

I hope I've framed this correctly.

    None, if you don't have an Intel 12th gen CPU with a big.LITTLE architecture i.e. P & E cores.

Everyone in MS has different vision of what Windows should be, and that's why it such a horrible mess right now. I think Windows should have distros like Linux, it won't be open source but different teams with different visions will continue to develop Windows the way they want it to be. The one-for-all idea is too big a feat to achieve. It ends up being a shitty OS for everyone.

I would just add that the T[rusted]P[latform]M[odule] and secure boot are some of the main culprits. No way around those any more. Also, there's absolutely no benefit for us musicians, as always, unless you're browsing like a madman from your Windows audio OS, which you shouldn't be doing in the first place.

If you're doing that, at least install VirtualBox or QEMU with an alternative OS just for browsing, so you can be sure you won't pick up some shit to f-up your main OS and your work.

Times are hard, people are more needy and greedier than ever - more like survivalism, or trying to maintain the quality of life they're used to, so anything can happen.

Idk abt TPM, it isn't anything new and so is secure boot. Its really useless for most people. Getting a virus is very hard anyways thanks to iLok which will protect us from all the pirates

So "AI PCs' are said to be coming and Win 12 (with AI) is set to be released in June of 2024. According to Taiwan's Commercial Times.

It turns out Microsoft is one of the biggest investors of OpenAI's ChatGpt and other leading AIs.

That sounds bad to me. It makes easier for them to make up excuses for being online. Including the data colletion we all know and hate.

I suspect a reason a lot of these big software companies are investing so much in AI is because their products are now so ridiculously bloated no human can debug it so they're counting on AI to be able to go through that code and make it right... :woot::dunno:

yea, and it seems they're aiming to replace Start Menu with AI Chatbot,
I think Microsoft is learning ways to make money from services instead of selling Windows,
I can imagine they'll implement AI suggestions into their Office365 suite too, but I'm very skeptical about any professional/business use where sensitive data and liability is major concern with any AI apis

I am ready to run windows 7 for the next 10 years. Not giving up

I installed nearly every plugin there is and maybe like 3 of them did not work. All kind of useless to me anyway

This AI shoehorning needs to die, already. Microsoft is already fucking up GitHub with it (along other things).

But as long as there are corp editions available, that will not happen for Windows.
