Lets see.. Bottom one is a BOSS Micro Rack Effect ROD-10 Overdrive/Distortion with the Mode and Output dials swapped.

That would do it! I knew there had to be knob shenanigans. I'm editing my previous post to reflect that I totally knew it was a Boss the whole time.

The other one has me scratching my head. it feels like an older device. something they likely bought used at the time so much older than 2005. almost has a ensoniq feel but nothing comes to mind. the nasty clicky lit buttons below the yellow lcd screen are very familiar but damned if i can recall what it is. fx unit? synth? hrm. I may not sleep tonight as well. lol

If it's not a d-beam like thing above the lcd, then it could be a vacuum tube.

The blue one on the bottom that is stumping people is not a synth... It's a Vox tonelab guitar pedal. I used to have one ages ago, but basically a guitar amp / cab modeler with fx. vox pedal.jpeg

The colors, the orange on black thing, almost like Linndrum... it does remind me of something.

Oh damn, it's blue! That looks nothing like the picture, or what the picture was inmy mind. But obviously that's it. Wow!

it's exactly like I described. but the "d-beam looking thing" is a vacuum tube "display" cover? Didn't Presonus make something really similar to this one?
