Hard to believe this mastering gem was recently on sale. It really shows that algo plugins can rival any other technology. What an amazing EQ.

What's amazing about it?

 

It stays true to the source yet can remove mud and resonant and harsh frequencies with ease. It can cut a lot and still sound natural, especially in M/S.
Boosts pleasantly as well. Not harsh at all. Filters are very high quality.
The addition of Mono maker/Stereo widener and correlation meter is very handy as well.
It works with you, has a wide sweet spot and is also very low on cpu. Can be used on old laptops for example.

 

Sounds like Fabfilter Pro Q 3 to anyone who knows what they're doing !!!!

PA sale. Ok, i checked my emails and it was a bit more, but i got it for 25$ with their codes.

 

IDK how they do it but their latest plugins are really high quality.

 

I think the biggest problem for bedroom producers is their listening system. It is no coincidence how most do not notice the enormous differences between, for example, one compressor to another.
Defining that the FF Q-3 algo is identical to the AMEK, well, I hope it's a listening system problem.

 

If I get this my sh*tty mixes will finally magically be world class! I know it!

 

Yes, the SOMA is also gorgeous. Plugin Alliance has already in my opinion filled the gap with the UAD catalog. Its products are extraordinary in quality, and above all extremely well optimized and very CPU efficient, they are native products and don't require dongle.
Too bad IMO the reverb section is very limited in PA. On the other hand, in UAD it is probably the best section.

PA has some great plugins. And some less good/mediocre ones too. My approach is to cherry pick the best ones in the sales, don't pay more than $50 and if I want something brand new they just released, I'm just patient and it will come down to more realistic prices before long.

You sound like Steven Slate. With every new release of aplugin he swears it's the best and people believe it right away. A very high skill of marketing.

Just tried it against several mastering EQs in a mastering session. After years of twiddling you can quickly tell if a plugin is a gimmick or good quality.

Different tool different flavour. Just happens that the Amek is a taste you crave after your first taste and is all you want there on after. You're not getting much better than this in a plugin
