    hey beat16 i was wondering if have you personally check their quality in comparison with kick 2 sounds? because 900 free kick samples for example sounds good but i don't want any general samples i need to know they were designed properly

    Say you ask, " I already have Kick 2 VST installed, and I want to make EDM. Am I Wasting my time downloading more random free samples?"

    of course. Learn Kick2 if you have it. how to add all your other drums in a mix will make a lot more sense to you, when you have certain elements that are either always the same; or that you actually have control over. layering other samples gets very easy if you are using kick2. look into Kickstart, and also the Nicky Romero kicks. the 909 day free ones. etc.

    i do have it installed but i don't like using them when i don't own them

    so i was looking for free good samples that can compare to that level

    a kick without context is just a kick. What sounds good alone means absolutely nothing. Kick2 is only as good as the person using it. Honestly , there are 2-3 sample libraries pre 2005 that provide enough material to cover anything. It isn't like kicks are evolving in any meaningful way

    Honestly Bazzism is just plain easier than KICK2 and does amazing kicks. And yes, it has just a few features, but this means you can learn it in a few minutes.

    Markus Hakala – 500 Free Kick Drums - this pack is the best.

    kick 2 is worth learning imo , the way you cant control pitch and volume envelopes , its perfect for subbass and all kinds of kicks from long tuned 808s to acoustic stuff + built in distortion and effects are really good
