Needs a bit of de-essing. Sounds like 8-9K mostly, sometimes higher 12K, who knows it could be the mp3 filter creating corner reso.

Some sections get pretty piercing. Vocal boost in 2.5K-3.5K?

I can hear the gate working now that everything is louderneered, that's not the issue but I can hear it closing in certain instances in an unpleasant way.

Try a vox down mix. Remember that perceived loudness in the mid-range rises with SPL and loudness processes increase average SPL.

I think the high end is a little dark on drums but that is a matter of preference, the acoustic guitar could probably low passed gently to make space and wouldn't loose much of it's character. It gets a little ugh.

I also perhaps push it louder an other 1-1.5 dB I think there is room there for that. it sounds like it's maybe around 16LUFS or maybe a little higher not sure, not going to check.

It's still a decent work, cheers.

The only thing I can say about your remaster is that it is brighter, and the voice sounds better, though as @JMOUTTON said it could be far better once de-essed.

The problem I see is what this record needed is not a remaster, but a remixing of the individual tracks, to correct the instrument separately and independently.

    - On the voice: EQ, compress and de-esser

    - The e-guitar solo track should IMHO deserve to be recorded again, with the clearest sound you could get from your amplifier (or you could also plug your e-guitar directly on your interface (Hi-Z) and use a plugin, like Amplitube or TH-U), then apply a nice chorus (not too much), then a tape delay (Shadows-"Apache"-style, but more discrete, not prominent), the goal here would be to create a gentle ambience and a nice stereo space.

    - The drums need to be seriously edited, compressed and EQ, in fact IMHO they are really not OK as they are, the ideal could be to record the drums again with better sounding microphones (minimum 3: one for the kick drum, and two facing the drum rack, directed left and right (X-Y) at the same height as the snare drum, and in an isolated, non-resonant room.

But there is of course a major obstacle to remixing: perhaps you don't have the individual, separated tracks (stems) anymore, only the master track, or a playback track already recorded and mixed? Is it an original instrumental?

If it's your case, I completely understand that you cannot really modify deeply this mix, only remaster. Then I could only recommend to read the @JMOUTTON message again and as said starting with applying a de-esser on your voice, etc.

Perhaps could you also, if you can, push the level of the instruments a bit, because now the level of your voice is too high compared to the rest of the instruments, but of course as usual do exactly according to your taste and your means.

This remastered version is very OK compared to the first. Much brighter.
