All the valves/tubes in the world are made in China, Slovakia and Russia so they still need to be shipped from there and most probably not local to you. There are not nearly enough manufacturers to supply the demand to replace chip components, and as well the quality of valves don't seem to be as high as they once were. To me they absolutely sound better too and that's why I use valve amps, though my best microphones are FET.

Hell, it's not just gear, but electronic parts. I've been waiting for a pack of capacitors from Farnell to change [10-year old gear maintenance] the old electrolytic capacitors in some of my older audio equipment for weeks! It's driving me crazy. It's just bloody capacitors. Sure, Panasonic ones [never buy crap capacitors...], but still...

In short: the supply chain is very complex and if only one of them stalls [say, capacitors in my case], the whole production [of my shit ] stalls etc.

I know Marshall tube amplifiers also, they need some time after switching on.
The sound is a little warmer. you should buy some spare tubes right away.

Nevertheless, I had bought a Fender transistor amplifier. I find it very annoying when the tubes
are defective and you can not use your amplifier then. Transistor amplifiers are also cheaper.

The Korg - Electribe EMX-1 SD also has 2 tubes, although it is sometimes difficult to get replacement tubes.
The tube really brings more warmth to the sound.

technically they are, in the political sense. libertarianism has become so perverted that some may not fit the term, but it could easily be said they are not really libertarians either. a lot of hipster normies need something edgy to identify as, and a way to be marketed to. no one is any of these stupid things in real politik terms anyway.
