Okay, Cubase Plugin Report is giving me the following numbers:

    Total Plug-ins: 349
    Effect Plug-ins: 286
    Instrument Plug-ins: 63
    VST3 Plug-ins: 227
    VST2 Plug-ins: 121
    Other Plug-ins: 1
    Blacklisted Plug-ins: 3
    Reactivated Plug-ins: 2

I believe this includes Cubase internal plugins and some Waves doublettes (Waves tends to install various variants of the same plugin: Stereo, Mono, Mono-Stereo, Live-Version, Efficient Version etcetera).

Still, it's way too many for efficient work. Will probably do an inventory and reduce some of the redundancy eventually, because having too many options really masses with my attention and focus. Since I switched to Ableton, I'm mainly using the onboard effects anyway, Hybrid Reverb in particular.

Here are some of my keepers:

TDR (Slick GE, Slick Master, Nova GE, Molotok)
Variety Of Sound (64 Bit Re-Editions and the new Tessla SE MKII)
Convology XT (small, but versatile library of IRs included and also for using third party IRs)
    RC-20
    Voxengo Tube Amp
    Magnetite
    Chow Tape
    Algonaut Atlas
U-He free- and magware (Zebra CM, Tyrell)
    Vital
    Surge XT
    Serato Sample

    Thank you @Hazen:wink:
I've often heard of TDR plug-ins and they're supposed to be really good... what's your experience?

If you use R2R cracked version it installs all plugins but there are several utils that can split the waves VST clusters up to discrete files and you can delete or (better) move the VSTs you don't need.

Lol I am one of those people who enjoys the chaos when I'm just dabbling alone, but I also have very precise folder structures for when I need something specific.

You should see peoples faces when I pull up the S1 template that includes Maschine with 16 outs prerouted (8 for drums and 8 for instruments) AND Fl Studio for bass slides..... I suppose I could add like a Reason Rack to set a record for most DAWs in use at once

Well, seems I'm too late to the party,
ok, sometimes my DAW shows this message below...
735...yeah, maybe 35 of them I use, but the rest 700 never,
would you like me to list them all here?

They are really good. The free versions are already better than many commercial plugins and the paid versions add some useful features, such as Smart Ops (for example: automatic detection of unpleasant resonances in Nova dynamic EQ). They tax the CPU quite a bit, at least on my old third generation Intel I5, but you can switch to less CPU intensive quality mode in realtime and set it to render in highest quality. They are really cleverly designed: the right set of features and parameter ranges for me.

Well, the things are simpler than you think (as well as me before)…
    I have these DAWs installed:
    1.Sonar (main and solely used)
    2.Acoustica Mixcraft
    3.Nuendo
    4.Cubase
    5.Reaper
    6.Samplitude
    7,8,9.Adobe Audition* (1.5, 3.0, CS6)

So, I didn’t install those DAWs plugins…just Sonar while scanning grabbed them all to its VST/VSTi folders
This DAW (Sonar) looks like a very greedy guy who grabs everything and everywhere – some of the grabbed aren’t even VST or any musical plugins…
Its kinda like the captain, showing at the boy, says: “This is a girl”…
then the soldier replies: “ Yes, sir, this is a girl”
    ______________________________________
So, the number 735 we should divide on 9(the number of DAWs installed) ?, no, on 6,
because AA* ones are even more greedy than Sonar and never share their plugins with others…
PS. Some of those Sonar’s finds showed they are very good, for example, Pianissimo from Mixcraft (one of the best VST pianos) or XBass (bass enhancer)

A few VST2/VST3 duplicates, so it's not as bad as it looks.
