Sonible Open GL problem

    The Sonible Smart EQ3 shows no graph and states that it needs an open GL, but my video card is showing that Open GL is working. The EQ function is working, but nearly impossible to adjust without the graph. When set to group mode, you can see the graph in the small version shown, but can't adjust it in group mode.

    The Smart Compressor has the same problem. You can hear it working, but the spectrogram is not showing with a statement stating it needs open GL.

    Both plugins are set to open GL in options. Turning the option off or on has no difference.

    The Smart Reverb & Limiter work fine.

    Any ideas?

    Which graphics card? Have you updated their drivers?

    Plugin needs to be restarted most probably for settings to take effect

    it is Buggy in Cubase and Nuendo too since last year .. siwtching off the open GL in the fx preference fixes the issue here.

    Dell desktop computer
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti video Card
    Windows 10 Home
    i9 processor with 64 GB RAM
    Video driver/OpenGL is 4.6.0 NVIDIA 496.49
    DirectX 12

    I've updated all drivers, did SFC & DISM checks, reinstalled Cubase Artist 9.5, reinstalled the Sonible plugins, plus Windows is completely updated.
    Confused on how to switch off Open GL in FX preferences

    The Sonible plugins worked good for quite awhile so thinking something happened. Might have to format and start over, though it's a huge hassle.

    I don't use many plugins, but the rest work fine, including ones like Fabfilter Q3, with it's moving display. .

    Hello @Max Tempo here are a few tips:

    1.)
    This is stated in the operating instructions of the smart:EQ 3:

    Settings

    Global Preferences
    These settings are applied by default to each new instance of smart:EQ 3 by default.

    Enable OpenGL
    OpenGL can cause problems with certain computer hardware. Use this option to disable OpenGL.

    Maybe this will help:
    It has to do with GSYNC guys.
    Go to NVIDIA Systemsettings page -> GSYNC
    Then ONLY tick "Fullscreen", NOT "Windowed + Fullscreen".
    That fixes it, somehow the Softube plugins really dont like GSYNC which is activated if its in "Windowed + Fullscreen" mode.

    Yes!!! Thank-you very much BEAT16. :) I'd tried all the other solutions but turning off the Open GL in the Sonible plugins options as you suggested worked. I had read the operating instructions before and just glanced over that part, not thinking it important at the time.

    Since you have an i9 disabling opengl won't matter a lot
