Pro Tools 12.5 editing getting laggy after working for a while

    After running a session for a while my Pro Tools midi editor gets super slow. When dragging or trimming notes the software will actually freeze for like 10 seconds but after restarting everything works just fine. Has anyone encountered this problem yet? I'm thinking about trying out version 12.3 cause restarting everytime seems rather annoying

    When this happens, check the system and disk usage, some plugs will also cause this to happen, especially Soothe2, I stopped using it for this very reason, also could be you need to upgrade your memory or HDD if you're still using a magnetic disk drive

    I doubt it's my PC. Had a single track with Addictive Keys 2 on it and it happened out of nowhere, never had a problem like that before. Interestingly didn't happened again in the meantime.

    You could try freezing the track if it happens again

    Did you check other programs activity? Like antivirus scanning ?
