Yeah that's where I got it. It was my first time using that site though, and when the keygen put up a weird error, I got a sinking feeling I'd maybe started using that site during a less trustworthy phase. Seems ok though, just don't have a working auth for Gong amp.

 

thanks for letting us know that this developer is using malware, im not gonna buy the atype i wanted to buy today to compare it against my a301. r2r you rule.

 

Check out Overloud Gem Dopamine as an alternative to that.

Edit: I must confess I would still consider these measures somewhat reasonable, although it does seem a bit much. No comparison to what Tone2 did, that was much worse, IMO.

2) Despite what you think, our company is doing just fine, we don't need any "exposure" from piracy, thank you.

3) Our copy protection is pretty mild compared to other developers, but still somehow effective.
Despite all the funny bashing from R2R, their latest releases (except for the older updates) are not fully cracked. Try Gong Amp, it will eventually trigger the demo silence; Outer Space, Springs, and Frostbite 2 will detect the wrong license file, and so on.
CE-V.R releases used to be very bad, but they got a lot better, the latest ones are definitely more stable.
So, yeah, if you want a more stable crack, check them although, they "don't solve the crypto things".

A few more words on copy protection. For me, it's a really interesting topic and just a fun aspect of the job.

As a developer and a user myself, I really hate all kinds of dongles and invasive copy protection, that's why we offer a simple license file with online and offline activation. No dongles, no C&R, no subscriptions, no code virtualization, no funky stuff. Legit users are not affected in any meaningful way by it. Some of you think that we are "shitty devs [...] who have such an entitled attitude that they are prepared to cross the lines of all decency in the name of "stopping piracy and theft"". Lol. If you are that offended by a very mild copy protection...sure, boycott us

 

Nice to see you around here, Audiothing. I can confirm Gong Amp is in fact bombed, so you did a pretty good job despite R2R note.

 

It's not just Gong Amp. The latest R2R keygen doesn't work at all.
Pretty sure a working version will be released soon enough, though.

awesome, love you guys. your post brought a smile to my face, that's the kind of reaction and mindset i really love seeing from developers. i am also relieved to hear that you are not considering more invasive copy protection. have been a customer in the past and will gladly buy more from you, keep it up!

PS to protect yourself from fakers and people trying to take advantage of you (look at what happened with adam szabo for example), if you want to contact R2R, use their official "R2R Encryptor The Suppliers Tools v1.0.0-R2R", you can get it from the other site. then post the output somewhere where you believe someone from R2R is reading. don't believe anyone writing to you and asking you for licenses or anything.

 

They are working for the most part, at least the ones I tested, only issue is that you have to do a little tweak here and there for it to work properly, like saving the licenses in the proper folder, etc. I don't know why R2R released the bundle in that condition tho, the last VR release is (as Audiothing said) working way better.

 

I sincerely feel sorry for him. It wasn't how things were supposed to turn out. I didn't even download the "cracked" version. He and his work deserve respect. So much effort has been invested. After the appearance of the chip emulator, the original virus became available in a software shell, which can further complicate its situation. By the way, the emulator is excellent (thanks to the devs., they've made a great job)
As for the protection of plugins, I will say that in a particular case we are not dealing with an inadequate policy of the manufacturer. But in principle, "piracy" is important. I usually try to buy what I actively use at the earliest opportunity. But if I had not used pirated versions in my time, I would not have acquired many useful plugins nowadays legally.

 

I have respect for the developers of the emulator because the project is open source. they are using code, ideas, roms, and anything else "emulated"; and are not doing so to make a quick buck off someone else's work or reputation.

Every AudioThing released by R2R including all latest works fine for me.
BUT i havent installed VR or any other group except when i tried Ret which didnt work for me at all so i had to uninstall CLEAN the register and everything else and reinstall R2R's version then it worked.
So just do that and you are back on track,

 

Latest R2R release indeed has some problems like Gong Amp not being properly cracked or some licenses just stop working, for example. But I don't know if they're going to fix it.

 

@audiothing honestly I think this is the first time I've seen a developer being so honest and nice, especially with the fact that your stuff is getting cracked, and for that, I can't appreciate you enough. It helps people realize that you really are just a good developer in general, and you actually know what you are doing (unlike some), and it helps people have more trust in yall, and maybe just appreciate your products even more.
