Does anyone know how to get this to work on a Mac and Logic pro?
I can't seem to be able to find the plugins plugin manager. even though I installed the AU/Vst3/Vst.

Use OSX Validate all AUs utility. https://macdownload.informer.com/osx-validate-all-aus/
It will force validation so Logic auvaltool sees the Component. The binary goes in /Components to use it in Logic. You will have to add a copy of the binary to either VST plugin folder if you want to run the emulator as a VST in other programs. The binary is so small; I wouldn't bother trying a symlink.

I just saw it on a sister site and wanted to say thanks for the hard work! Now downloading, and I think about selling my virus TI already.

 

And I would just add, I run Mojave. Not sure if it is just my machine, but sometimes even with SIP being permissive and rebooted, Logic doesn't validate the AU, BUT if I validate via AU Lab (v2.2, V2.3 usually hangs for me) https://macdownload.informer.com/au-lab/2.2/
Logic picks it right up.

 

There is so much bullshit in there that you dont even know anything of, creating your own theories. Its time to get facts right:

1. It is not my fault FlowStone doenst support Mac. If I never would have discovered FlowStone I would have never gotten into creating VST plugins and then Viper wouldnt exist. Simple as that. I wouldnt have started programming with any other platform, they didnt peak my interest. So which is better, Viper for PC or Viper for nothing? Is it my fault you are on Mac? No, its yours, so stop blaming me. Learning a new development platform would take years, then being really good at it would take more years, then porting my products would take even more years. In that amount of time I could create lots of other VST plugins, so business wise its not worth it for me. That is my choice, and its something everyone has to accept. If you dont like it, you are most welcome to create your own plugins.

2. That low life scum was pretending to be my "friend", ive known him for years and he earned my trust. Do you really think he was just a random person and wrote to me asking for a copy and I said yeah sure? Im not a f*cking retard. I explained in detail (which you forgot by now I see), that I thought I was sending a christmas gift to my "friend", and got scammed and screwed over. I guess you never gave anything to someone before? Im sorry for being so nice to and trusting people.

3. Again, do you really think I slapped together the Virus import in 5 minutes to quickly compensate for this free Virus plugin? Its an extremely hard procedure to read and analyze several hundred values one by one, then converting and scaling them to a format Viper understands. This has been in work for months, even before this Motorola Virus emulation existed. It has only gotten stable enough now, and before that I had to do other user requests like new skins and other shit.

So please stop that childish speculation when you dont know half of it. People were asking questions for me in this topic thats why I replied here. Anyway, I dont want to hijack this thread anymore, its not my topic.

Your are absolutely correct, in that if I am not happy with something that is being offered (or not) I have the option to look elsewhere or try to solve the problem myself.

I was going to point out a few things that have nothing to do with 'theory or speculation' that were in your own words, but I agree about not 'diverting' this thread any further. I responded to your original comment, which I can only 'speculate' was in turn a your response to one of customers or fans of you or your products. This is my last comment-response on this.

I guess sometimes even some positive can come out of something bad (being a trusting person - giving that scammer something free). Look at all the buzz-chatter and debate a while back about your plug-in on the forums. No press is bad bad press, or something like that.

 

Hi. Trying this plugin on mac, it works in some hosts, like renoise and ableton, but doesn't make any sound in some others like reaper for example. Did anyone tried it in reaper? And another question: which mac hosts support Sysex? Thanks!

 

I managed to get it to play on iMac i5 Sierra/Logic 10.4.2.
The problem is that the sound is full of noises, creaks, squeaks (even closing the FX and using it in Mono mode)... and often a window appears with the words 'Error while trying to synchronize Audio and Midi'.

Any suggestions?

A Mod literally gave me a "two point warning" and deleted my post for 'insulting board members' for calling out that guy's rudeness and misinformation . I guess being a passive-aggressive jerk is okay around warez forums as long as you don't use big words. Yikes.

 

Did you run the 'test console' from the Devs website to ensure your box meets the MIPS requirement. SEE photo for more info.

Double clicking on 'virusTestConsole' file... Terminal come up with a different window from the one showed on your photo (No MIPS as you can see) or maybe I didn't understand how to use that file.

Hmmm. Interesting. It may be a 'permissions' thing. A quick test is If you have Permissions Reset app, just reset the perms on the 3 files(extracted should be test and 2 sh files). Or do it from terminal. Try it again. Try dragging the test app to terminal to run and not double clicking incase it requires password. And make sure you have a single ROM in the folder where you extracted the 3 files. If that don't work, maybe someone else has an idea.

It works for Mac. Do the test as grounder indicates (right click 'virusTestConsole' and click Open instead of double clicking the file) - if your computer handles it, it works. NOTE: put the desired ROM within the test folder!

Then Dequarantine and place the plugin (e.g. AU Audio unit) in the .components folder (where Audio Units are installed) WITH the ROM of your choice (only one at a time) - try the plugin.

My only doubt is about the ROM differences (what are the best ones and should we use the latest version of each model - do they differ a lot?)

and also: how to be able to open different plugins (e.g. AU Audio units which is what I mainly use) with different ROMs at the same time - I don't know how the main AU can be renamed or something so it opens as a variant of the original one and you can open different synth models within the same project.
