I noticed a few EastWest libraries on sale right now.
I'm guessing to purchase one of these would include an official Play install for mac?
Would this allow the use of the EW libraries from the sister site that are otherwise only pc?

 

Errr - you're a bit mistaken there - I haven't actually asked this specific question at all!

I was asking about work around options with the like of Crossgridder previously.

This time I'm asking if I were to buy an EastWest library, with a legit version of play included, would it be able to load the libraries from the sister site, or would they need furter activation of a sort.

So, no - I wasn't asking the same question at all.

No it won't work. It's specifically stated in the library archive that you need the R2R Play loader for the library to work.

 

official play software making few license checks for decrypting library files.
R2R modified these license checks - play loading decrypt info from files that comes with unlocked libraries.

official play software can't read unlocked libraries.

do you really think R2R didn't crack the mac version just because they didn't have play for mac?

 

I have observed the behaviour of both R2R and the registered versions.

• The registered PLAY will access the R2R libraries.
• The R2R PLAY will not access the registered libraries properly.

The reason is in their supplied ProgramData files. To be honest, the R2R version could probably access libraries that have not so far been supplied under one scenario - This being if R2R supplied a generator of some kind like they did for UVI that generated the files their version of PLAY needs from registered versions. This is what seems to be the reason because the R2R PLAY will ADD libraries that are not R2R supplied but has issues with logging the paths correctly and more were evident in the popups trying it. Which is pretty much what they said. I just wanted to see what it did.
I installed R2R on a different computer and pointed to the network drive as a test. The results I have already mentioned - As R2R said.

Basically having both and testing both from different computers, I normally would have thought so
However - - R2R PLAY sees it, adds it and says it cannot find some samples (like the engine did). This indicates to me that the ProgramData needs to be similar to R2R's - It is not spitting unregistered messages from the 2nd computer or anything you might expect. That's why I suggested what is in the above post.
The libraries posted on the sister site were identical to the legal ones with the only difference being ProgramData alterations. The legal version can load the R2R libraries - that's how I came to that conclusion.

by the way: does anyone know why there are no more new East West Libraries on the sister site since a few days,
I mean the ones with the changed ProgramData files!

let me tell you a secret: R2R added only one important file - the *.ewo file (in the products folder).
all other files (except for ogg files) from the original library and from the installation files of the official play installer.

 

No it won't work. You have to download all the legit libraries from the R2R modified ones. That's the reason I haven't used the R2R releases because they will not release the Hollywood series as it seems and I have bought the Hollywood Choirs so I can't use it with R2R PLAY.

They probably won't release the blockbuster libraries...
