Anyone running Kontakt with large libraries contained in the browser or the hilariously misnamed "quick-load" will be aware of the astonishing load times - particularly when opening Kontakt for the first time in a session. This can be alleviated by saving instances with the browser closed. Kontakt will then open quickly and you can open the browser manually to save time.

Here's the problem (for me anyway); you can't seem to save the default state as a designed setup ie - browser closed. Or is this just a problem at my end or a Logic phenomenon?

Which operating system and which CPU and RAM are you using?

Multiple. But lets start with the 2020 iMac with 3.6GHz 10 core i9 plus 40 GB DDR4 Ram pro running BS.

Iow - I don't think the issue is with the system or CPU, Im just wondering why Kontakt doesn't have an absolute saveable default state.

I probably don't understand the exact problem you're having, but if you save Kontakt in a a certain state (loaded instr, outputs, quick load open/closed, etc etc..) as a default multi, it stays that way the next time you open it (standalone) or insert (vst)

Hmm. That's not happening for me. I can save a Kontakt instrument as a default, but if I save it with browser closed it still starts up with the browser open.

I never tried to save whithout the browser but about loading large librairies it’s fast on my system (Mac /Catalina/last kontakt). What kind of drive are the librairies on ? Did you batch resave the ones that take long time to load?

Batch resaved. Fast SSD (admittedly some on 10Gbt NAS) but a really large Quickload environment. Opening Kontakt can take between 90 to 120 seconds.

Well I don't use much quickload so can't tell you if it's the culprit....but 90 to 120 s is definitely not normal even for a very large library.
